The Universal and Intercontinental Champions will clash at a live event in March as Brock Lesnar and The Miz are set to go one on one.

The lack of appearances at WWE events from Brock Lesnar has been a much-discussed topic since The Beast Incarnate returned to the squared circle back in 2012. It becomes even more of a hot-button topic when Lesnar has one of the company's championships which is the case right now.

Fans who hate the fact that their Universal Champion is all too often nowhere to be seen can rejoice a little at the latest news coming out of camp WWE however. In March, The Beast will appear at four non-televised live events in the build to WrestleMania. The champ will be busier than he has been since his first run with WWE and a couple of the matches will be title defenses.

That latest of the four appearances to get a match attached to it is the one taking place in Minneapolis on March 9, 2018. The Target Center website is advertising that The Beast will return to his hometown and take on The Miz in what is being billed as a champion versus champion match since both men currently hold Raw's two top championships. The match will take place six days after Lesnar defends his title against Kane at a live event in Chicago.

While stepping into the ring with Lesnar is a big deal for any WWE Superstar this news doesn't bode well for The Miz's chances at Elimination Chamber. The Awesome One earned his way into the match to decide a number one contender for The Beast's Universal Title at WrestleMania. It's not likely that WWE would give away that match at a live event a month before if they're planning on having it go down in New Orleans.

Lesnar is famously on a contract with WWE that sees him have to appear on a number of dates. Perhaps the build-up of appearances next month is not just because its WrestleMania season, but also because WWE has Lesnar dates to use up. There are rumors that The Beast's contract will come to an end after WrestleMania 34 and maybe this is a way of using up any remaining dates that need to be gotten out of the way.
