Stop us if you’ve heard this before, but the Twitterverse is going crazy over the latest hint that Matt Hardy might be ready to go full-on “Broken,” or “Woken,” as he now prefers to call his oddball persona from his last year in the company then known as TNA.
As related by Wrestling News, a lot of fans noticed one important detail in a video Hardy posted on Twitter, where he simply announced that this week’s Monday Night Raw will be held at the Pepsi Center in Denver. While his announcement of “DENVAH! I knew you’d come!” in the unmistakeable intonations of “Broken” Matt Hardy isn’t unusual—Hardy’s been teasing becoming “Woken” in recent weeks—Wrestling News believes the real kicker is Matt’s recent comment that “everything would change” now that his brother Jeff Hardy (or should we say, Brother Nero?) is out injured for several months.

Still, the main thing for fans appears to be the hair, as Matt Hardy appears to be rocking the exact same hairdo he wore when he launched the Broken Universe on Impact Wrestling last year. Granted, he kept the white streak when he and Jeff returned to WWE and won the Raw Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 33, but the new 'do does make for a promising sign—it’s just a minor tweak to his hairdo, but it’s one that has him looking very close to "Broken" Matt Hardy circa 2016.
It's been six months since The Hardy Boyz returned to the WWE, and all the rumors about the brothers bringing their old Impact Wrestling gimmicks to the WWE almost makes them the "'Boyz who cried 'Broken'/'Woken'." Of course, none of this is their fault, and as we've seen from countless reports and social media posts, Matt and Jeff would have long brought the Broken Universe to the WWE had things gone according to plan. But with Jeff Hardy expected to be out until shortly after WrestleMania 34, the timing couldn't be better for Matt to unleash his "Woken" persona.
With that said, it wouldn't be surprising if the tweaked hairdo and latest "Woken" video are nothing but teases. As far as we know, GFW doesn't appear to be done claiming ownership over the Broken Universe, so you might want to manage your expectations a bit ahead of tonight's Monday Night Raw. But it would truly be cool if Matt stops giving us the runaround and starts speaking in an unusual accent and spouting big words 100 percent of the time, instead of just half of the time or less.
