Hulk Hogan and The Undertaker are perhaps the two greatest and most beloved superstars in WWE history, and their short history in the ring together was nothing short of memorable and legendary.

Hogan, of course, was the main face of professional wrestling during the WWE's booming period in the '80s. Vince McMahon handpicked Hogan to carry the mantle as the WWE became a must-watch product across the world.

By the time the '90s decade rolled around, however, Vince McMahon was already looking for younger stars. Guys like Hogan and 'Macho Man' Randy Savage were no longer being used as the top guys.

Hogan and Undertaker squared off for the World Heavyweight Championship at the 1991 Survivor Series pay-per-view. In what can be classified as a passing-of-the-torch moment, Undertaker pinned Hogan to become the new champion - thus cementing himself as the next big star in WWE.

But apparently, the match for the two WWE icons wasn't all fun and games. It's been suggested that Hogan held a grudge against Undertaker, since the former had suffered a neck injury during their match. As for The Deadman, legend has it that he felt as though Hogan was looking to steal his thunder and ruin the big moment.

On the Something to Wrestle podcast (h/t 411Mania.com), long-time WWE producer Bruce Prichard sounded off on this rumor and admitted that Undertaker indeed felt some hostility towards Hogan at the time.

"Yeah, definitely," Prichard explained. "Yeah, I think he did. I think that to him, this is the biggest moment of his career and, yes, he did. I don’t think Hulk was (expletive) on his moment, I just think whatever happened happened, and again, not being there, I’ve never talked to Hulk about it."

Hogan, of course, made numerous enemies backstage during his wrestling career. The real-life rivalry with Randy Savage was well-documented, as was his beef with The Ultimate Warrior. And of course, Bret Hart has made it clear that he's not fond of The Hulkster, either.

At any rate, Undertaker and Hogan didn't let their apparent backstage tension get in the way of each others' careers. They even squared off again at the 2002 Judgment Day pay-per-view, where The Phenom scored the victory.

Another Interesting Backstage Tale Featuring Hogan

There are plenty of intriguing backstage stories involving The Hulkster and his feuds with various superstars. Any beef he had with Undertaker didn't receive much attention, at least compared to the feuds with Hart, Savage and Warrior. The supposed tension with Undertaker and Hogan took place almost three decades ago, however, and it's safe to assume that they're both past it now.
