WWE has revealed that Cain Velasquez has signed a deal with the company, and his Crown Jewel match with Brock Lesnar is now official.

Last week's debut of SmackDown on FOX was a history-making episode for a number of reasons. Some of those reasons were expected, such as the return of The Rock, while others were more surprising, Tyson Fury hopping the barrier. Cain Velasquez rocking up at the end of the night also came as quite the shock to most fans.

Tyson Fury has since shown up a second time in WWE, this time by invite on Raw. There, his issues with Braun Strowman continued. While Velasquez hasn't been seen in WWE again since he arrived with Rey Mysterio to scare the living daylights out of Lesnar, it was rumored that he would actually be signing a deal with the company.

That news has now been confirmed, and it's an even bigger deal than anyone could have expected. Not only has Velasquez committed his future to WWE, but he has done so by leaving UFC behind. The two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion has retired from MMA so that he can seemingly pursue a career in professional wrestling, and according to ESPN, WWE is giving him a lot of money to do so.

As expected, Velasquez's first match in WWE will be against Lesnar. A WWE Championship match at Crown Jewel on October 31, 2019. At the press conference held by WWE, it was also revealed that Fury versus Strowman has also been added to the Saudi Arabian card. What's still unclear is the stipulations for these matches. We imagine Velasquez will be able to wrestle a match with Lesnar, but we can't see Fury doing anything but box in the Middle East this Halloween.

The other big question is what becomes of these two stars in WWE after Crown Jewel? Since Velasquez has signed a contract, the assumption is he will be wrestling multiple matches for Vince McMahon. He might even leave Crown Jewel as WWE Champion. Fury, on the other hand, has not retired from the sport in which he made his name. In fact, he's expected to box Deontay Wilder early on in 2020.
