WWE fans have been awaiting confirmation that Carmella and Big Cass - one of the most popular couples in all of wrestling - broke up. Two weeks ago, Ms. Money in the Bank removed all photos of her and Cass on Instagram, seemingly hinting that the relationship came to an end.
Carmella released a statement on their breakup, sharing this on video (with a telling caption), on her Instagram account:
With that, Carmella all but confirmed that her relationship of roughly three years with Big Cass is over.
Carmella debuted in NXT on the Sept. 4, 2014 episode. She started out as a storyline hairdresser for Enzo and Cass, then became the manager for the popular tag team. Carmella debuted for the WWE's main roster in July 2016, after being drafted to the SmackDown brand.
Though they were one of the more notable and recognizable WWE power couples, Carmella and Cass often kept their relationship low-profile, not giving many details nor speaking about it all that much.
The breakup comes nearly four months after Enzo broke up with Liv Morgan - who seemingly alleged that the current Cruiserweight Champion had cheated on her.
Though we haven't received any details of why Cass and Carmella broke up, it's possible that competing on different brands made it all-too-difficult for the couple to spend time together. Cass is also recovering from a torn ACL suffered in August, which could have complicated things.
There have been many wrestling couple splits throughout the calendar year. Bray Wyatt's wife, Samantha, filed for divorce amid rumors that he was having an affair with JoJo Offerman. Paige and Alberto Del Rio also called off their engagement two months ago, with the latter saying that conflicting work schedules made it impossible to see each other.
Carmella and Cass are both among the most popular and admired figures in wrestling today. No doubt, neither of them will have troubles finding their next significant others. There are plenty of fish in the sea, after all.
