Wrestling and celebrities have gone together like peanut butter and jelly for decades now. Even before the Rock And Wrestling Connection of the eighties. Singing the national anthem, being the guest timekeeper, host, or referee. There have been plenty of big-time celebrity moments in the ring. Most recently UFC legend Ronda Rousey took the Women’s Division by storm and helped push the division straight to the WrestleMania main event. Currently, on sabbatical, she hasn’t declared a full-on retirement yet.

From football celebrities like Wahoo McDaniel and the Big Cat Ernie Ladd went from the gridiron of football to the squared circle of the wrestling ring. Long before he guest refereed the WrestleMania I main event, Muhammed Ali has matches with both Antonio Inoki and the incomparable Gorilla Monsoon. The phrase “the rest of history” gets tossed around a lot, but after Jerry met Andy, that statement has never been truer. Kaufman wrestled women at first, proclaiming himself the Intergender champion. Jerry Lawler eventually got into the mix, delivering a Piledriver and then winding up with the infamous appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman. Kaufman is still the best celebrity wrestling heel for his antics.

ely made for WrestleMania. The Big Show even got himself into top fighting shape. But the master of Shaq-Fu had to turn down an epic clash of titans.
