With Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey making bold choices to cross over from UFC to the WWE, many MMA and wrestling fans can't help but wonder if Conor McGregor will one day do the same.

McGregor currently holds the lightweight championship, though UFC president Dana White has already said that he plans to strip "The Notorious" of his championship. McGregor last fought at UFC 205 in Nov. 2016, where he beat Eddie Alvarez to land the championship.

But the Irishman's UFC career has been on hiatus, and he hasn't fought since the epic boxing match against Floyd Mayweather in August. And with that, the speculation of him going from the octagon to the squared circle continue to pile up.

Well, 16-time World Champion John Cena would be all in for McGregor coming over to the WWE. During an interview to promote his upcoming film Blockers, Cena explained why McGregor would be a terrific add for the WWE.

"He would do fantastic.Hell, he would put me out of work. He gets the entertainment aspect of sport, and I think he gets it as good or better than anyone else. The way he promoted the fight against Mayweather – that’s what we do. He did it as good or better than us. So I hope one day, if you’re out there watching and you want to come to WWE, he would be a fantastic WWE Superstar.”

Cena remains classy and welcoming as usual, even though McGregor previously called the future Hall of Famer a "big, fat, 40-year-old failed Mr Olympia mother f*****". And reasons like this could be what keeps McGregor out of WWE, at least for the time being.

In the summer of 2016, McGregor took multiple shots at WWE superstars, and was called out for his trash talk by Roman Reigns.

And during an interview with Good Morning Britain in December, Triple H explained that McGregor's harmful words towards the WWE product and its stars could impact his chances of coming over.

“Conor McGregor has said a lot of stuff about WWE in the past. I don’t have a problem with him, because he said I was the don, which is great. He said a lot of stuff about our talent in the past. (If) Conor McGregor comes in, it’s not going to be an easy go.”

Lesnar's choice to leave the UFC for a return to the WWE has worked out fine, as he reshaped his legacy in the squared circle and will surely be in the Hall of Fame some day. As for Rousey, she's only begun - and it's obvious there's a lot of work to be done before she reaches high status.

We know Cena would welcome McGregor in the WWE, but whether or not Triple H and other wrestlers feel the same is another story.
