Charlotte Flair has followed the footsteps of her father to become one of the biggest names in all of wrestling. The current SmackDown Women's Champion has made history in countless ways, and is largely responsible for bringing more dominance and relevance to the female roster.
Flair - who's only been on the main event roster for three years - has already held six championships in the WWE, and fought Sasha Banks in the very first women's Hell in a Cell match in 2016. Indeed, she's doing a remarkable job living up to the Flair wrestling family legacy.
Though her career is already filled with a handful of memorable and epic moments, Charlotte has one that stands out most. In a recent interview with the Times of India, Charlotte discussed the highlight of her career so far:
"Up until few weeks ago, it was WrestleMania 32 facing Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch and winning the first ever RAW women's championship after we rebranded the division.
But a few weeks ago, I won the SmackDown championship in my home town of Charlotte, North Carolina. It had been hard couple of months for my family and winning the title against Natalya and my dad coming out in the end was very emotional."
Charlotte's championship victory over Natalya was even more emotional when Ric came out, as he had recently come out of the hospital after falling into a near-fatal coma. The Nature Boy made a miraculous recovery, and is in good health again.
It's been an emotional few years for the Flair family. Ric's son and Charlotte's brother, Reid, died of a heroin overdone in 2013. Flair's fiancee, Wendy Barlow, suffered severe injuries in a car accident last year, but recovered and was released from hospital shortly after.
That all happened before Ric fell into a coma and nearly passed away. But the Flair family has stayed strong together, and it's great to see Charlotte overcoming all of this adversity as she rises to the top of the wrestling world.
