This week's episode saw Le Champion come out with inner Circle partner in crime Jake Hager to announce that he will be hosting a "Chris Jericho's Thanksgiving Thank You Celebration" next Wednesday.
The announcement was interrupted by SCU as Scorpio Sky would remind Jericho of how he pinned him during a tag match last week, serving him his first loss since AEW kicked off earlier this year.
The disruption resulted in SCU getting Jericho to agree to put his belt on the line in a singles match next week. But there would be a brawl between the two factions, as was expected, and SCU would need a bit of help from Michael Nakawaza, Brandon Cutler and Jurassic Express.
AEW has also announced that Kenny Omega will square up with PAC in what will be a rematch of their fight at the All Out PPV, while MJF will take on Adam Page for the AEW Diamond Ring.
The Belt Probably Won't Be Changing Owners
Jericho losing his title on a non-PPV is quite unlikely but Sky has been one of the most impressive performers at AEW this year and the company could continue to push him.
The current champ remains insulated by his Inner Circle family and they will do everything in their power to keep the championship belt in his possession. Sky has a posse of his own, though, so this could possibly develop into something big.
It would actually be better to see Sky take the silverware off Jericho as opposed to a member of The Elite, at least not this early. Cody Rhodes winning the belt would have made things a bit too corporate but Sky as champion does hold a certain appeal.
