Long-time WWE superstar Chris Jericho has had a life like no other. Besides a wrestling career that’s spanned over two decades, he’s also the lead singer of the rock band, Fozzy. Y2J has balanched out two major careers, and is also the first WWE superstar to create his own list of people he doesn’t like.
Over the past couple of months, Jericho has opened up about a number of embarrassing stories during his early days with the WWE. On his latest episode of the Talk is Jericho podcast, Y2J shared a disturbing story in a segment with The Rock.

During the beginning of his WWE tenure, Jericho was trying to build up his heel character. So he went into the crowd and stole what looked like a beer from someone in the audience. Jericho then threw it at The Rock, only to discover that it was actually chewing tobacco spit. Rock was temporarily blinded from the tobacco.
Jericho claimed that he apologized “a thousand times,” and that Rock took a shower for 45 minutes. Luckily, Rock didn’t break keyfabe and didn’t do anything to harm Jericho – probably understanding it was a complete accident.
You have to feel sorry for Jericho, who was notably disliked by much of the WWF roster when he headed over there. The locker room didn’t care for a guy who previously worked for the rival WCW promotion, and Jericho even had rocky relationships with superstars like Triple H and The Undertaker.
But he and The Rock were the top two trash talkers in the WWE and obviously had a mutual respect for one another. These two wrestling icons put on a handful of epic promos, trading jab-for-jab and making it one of the hottest things on television.
And even though Jericho threw chewing tobacco spit at The Rock, these two still got along just fine and did what was best for business. That’s the ultimate showing of respect.
