Both Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley were victorious during night two of Wrestling Kingdom 14, defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi and Juice Robinson respectively.

2020 might only be five days old, but New Japan's biggest show of the year is already in the books. Technically, the promotion's two biggest shows. That's because, for the first time, NJPW decided Wrestle Kingdom has become such a big event that it can no longer take place over one night and was extended to two. Night two featured some incredible matches and a couple of blockbuster wins.

One of the biggest matches of the night had AEW implications. Chris Jericho promised that if he couldn't beat Hiroshi Tanahashi on night two, he would put the AEW Title up for grabs in a rematch down the line. Le Champion even wore the title to the ring with him in Japan, flipping off the camera when it came in for a close up on the gold.

Sadly for New Japan fans, and let's be honest, the wrestling world as a whole, Tanahashi will not be getting a shot at that title. At least not any time soon. The brutal battle between the two ended with a bloodied Jericho forcing his Japanese opponent to tap to the Liontamer. A victory for the AEW star, and no AEW/NJPW relationship to speak of just yet.

Jericho wasn't the only AEW star in action on night two of WK14. Jon Moxley also has a clause in his contract that allows him to continue competing for New Japan. In fact, in case you had forgotten, Mox went into WK14 as NJPW's United States Champion. What's more, he left the event as champ too, defeating Juice Robinson in another grueling match.

As for what the future holds for Jericho and Moxley in New Japan, the former might well be done with promotion and focus on AEW from now on. Mox, on the other hand, already has his next opponent lined up. Right after his win over Robinson, Minoru Suzuki attacked the US Champ and will be Mox's next NJPW opponent. That is a match we are most definitely here for.
