Despite rumors and speculation that he wouldn't be making the show, WWE legend Chris Jericho managed to make an appearance on the Raw 25th Anniversary special.

In a backstage segment with Elias, Jericho began singing a song before putting him (and his scarf) on The List of Jericho.

Jericho was also wearing his New Japan Pro Wrestling shirt, which we have to assume didn't please Vince McMahon so much. Jericho wrestled Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 12 in Tokyo on Jan. 4 in a losing effort.

Monday marked Jericho's first appearance on WWE programming since on the July 25 episode of SmackDown Live, losing a triple threat match against Kevin Owens and AJ Styles for the United States Championship, won by the latter.

Y2J's return was only fitting, considering his WWF debut was one of the most iconic moments in Raw history. It was reported earlier by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the WWE and Jericho hadn't been able to come to an agreement on his return. No doubt that it was extra special to have the  three-time World Champion return.

But don't expect Jericho's return on Raw to be a sign that he's back-full-time. Y2J will be on tour with Fozzy during the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania pay-per-views, and has said his match against Omega would be his last one for a while.

Jericho's last run with the WWE was widely considered to be the greatest of his career. He helped put younger talents like Styles, Owens, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins over, while The List of Jericho gimmick became one of the most popular in recent memory.

It was great to see Y2J and The List of Jericho make one more epic appearance on the Raw 25th Anniversary. Here's hoping it won't be long until we receive The Gift of Jericho again. We'd drink that in, man.
