Chris Jericho may have been advertised to appear on Raw's 25th anniversary tonight, but with just hours to go his deal may not have been confirmed.
Today's the day! Raw's 25th anniversary is now just a matter of hours away and the guest list is something to be marveled. The Undertaker will return to WWE television for the first time since WrestleMania 33, Stone Cold will be popping by to raise a little hell, and the signature voices of Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler will be back to call some of the action together.
As it stands, there are over 30 names coming back from Raw's past to make sure that tonight's show is an unforgettable one. Unfortunately, one of the first names announced, Kevin Nash, had to pull out last week due to not being able to travel thanks to his knee surgery. As of right now another man whose attendance is up in the air is Chris Jericho.
Despite being advertised for the show on WWE television last week Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer has reported that Y2J might not be on the show tonight. According to the longtime wrestling journalist as of the end of last week, WWE and Jericho had not managed to come to terms on a deal for the six-time World Champion to appear for the night.
WWE obviously wants to sign Jericho to a deal as they have advertised him to appear. While fans might not mind certain other promised stars going AWOL the absence of Jericho would be one that does not go unnoticed. Less than three weeks ago Y2J was performing at Wrestle Kingdom so his announcement for Raw 25 was somewhat unexpected and is highly anticipated.
What exactly Jericho and WWE can't come to terms on is anyone's guess. Perhaps they want the sure-fire Hall of Famer to stick around for longer than one night only and with Y2J's busy schedule that is just not possible. Eventually, WWE will have to bow to whatever Jericho wants though as they need him on the show.
