Chris Jericho has given his two cents on whether he thinks The Rock will really run for President during the 2020 campaign.
At first, it appeared to be a light-hearted joke. The Rock is a well known and well-liked movie star. However, as the months have passed that jovial notion has become a reality. Rock himself admitted that him running for president is a real possibility, plus an official campaign committee named Run The Rock 2020 has been filed with the Federal Election Commission.
Naturally, there has been a lot of talk on whether The Rock will actually run, and if he would make a good president among the pro wrestling community. Chris Jericho has chipped in with the President Rock talk recently, chatting about the plausibility of the situation on the Rich Eisen Show. Y2J told Eisen that he has "no doubt that's going to happen at some point". Jericho also went on to say that his fellow pro wrestler knows how to work a camera better than anyone.
The Rock has certainly transcended the wrestling business since he left WWE to make a real go of it in Hollywood. Since then, Dwayne Johnson has gone on to become perhaps the biggest action movie star in the world today. If we are truly living in a time where a person's celebrity status makes them more likely to be president than somebody with the appropriate political experience, then it seems an inevitability that The Rock will one day become president.
Chris Jericho is an extremely smart man and one who is not adverse to diversifying his career himself. As well as having a long and fruitful wrestling career that still hasn't come to an end Y2J is also the frontman of rock band Fozzy as well as a best-selling author. If Jericho truly believes that The Rock will run for president in a couple of years time, then you can rest assured that it will more than likely happen.
