The roster for Mixed Match Challenge could contain some big Clash of Champions main event spoilers.
Earlier this week, WWE announced that they will be launching a brand new show in conjunction with Facebook, the Mixed Match Challenge. The show will air exclusively on Facebook Watch and feature Superstars from both Raw and SmackDown Live going head to head in mixed gender tag team matches.
While the teams that will take part have not yet been announced, WWE did release a list of the names competing. 12 performers from each show will be included with the likes of Finn Balor, Carmella, The Miz, and Shinsuke Nakamura already included. Fans have the chance to vote for one more Raw Superstar to take part as well as deciding which member of The New Day will be added to the blue brand's ranks.
One of the Superstars already announced for the tournament is Sami Zayn. That's all well and good, but once again WWE may have jumped the gun a little without thinking through what information they're putting out there. The revelation that Zayn will take part in the MMC could fall into the category of Clash Of Champions main event spoilers by giving away the result of the bout. If Sami and Kevin Owens lose this Sunday then they will be fired from all of WWE, but if Zayn is going to be taking part in the MMC, then obviously he and KO won't be losing their jobs this weekend.
This isn't the first time that WWE has shown their hand in this way and it likely won't be the last. A week before Survivor Series they published a promotional poster for the pay-per-view revealing that Charlotte Flair would be beating Natalya for the SmackDown Women's Championship before she had actually done so. Clearly, they either didn't learn from that slip-up or they simply don't care.
Slip-ups aside the Mixed Match Challenge is a very exciting prospect and is already generating a lot of intrigue and interest. Fans want to know who will be paired up with who and just more information in general about how the tournament is going to work. That will all become clearer in the coming weeks and the debut of the MMC is now only a little more than a month away.
