If Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks do start up their own wrestling company, CM Punk may be open to working with them.

We are fast approaching the fifth anniversary of CM Punk's last ever match in WWE. Punk's last match with the company was the 2014 Royal Rumble match. Just to give you some context on how long ago that was, it was the year Batista won the 30-man match. So before Daniel Bryan's miracle at WrestleMania, and during a time where The Shield hadn't even broken up once, let alone twice.

Despite the amount of time that has passed and the history which has taken place during that time, many wrestling fans still hold out hope that Punk will one day return. It doesn't matter that he has effectively said he is done with wrestling until he's blue in the face, us Punk fans will never give up hope. Well, if you are one of those fans, we have some good news.

During a recent interview with MMAFighting, Punk was asked his opinion about the rumors The Elite is planning on starting up its own wrestling company. "If those guys all go and start their own thing, more power to them," Punk said during the interview. The Second City Saint was then asked if he would entertain an offer from Cody Rhodes and co, and his answer will have given Punk fans a fresh glimmer of hope.

"I would always listen. I would listen to them because … I like the Young Bucks," Punk replied when asked if he would consider an offer to join All Elite Wrestling. The former WWE Champion also revealed that he still exchanges texts with Matt Jackson. However, he stands firm on his claim that he was never made an offer to be a part of All In. "Calling me up or texting me saying, ‘Hey, if you want to come to the show and do something, we would love that’ is not an offer."

Before you get your hopes up about a Punk return, he did contradict himself a little later on in the same interview. Punk explained that due to lawsuits and the like, he hasn't been able to completely shake off the wrestling business. However, he stated that those loose ends are almost tied up, and after that, he won't be associated with wrestling at all. So maybe he will be back, or maybe he is really done.
