CM Punk revealed a shortlist of WWE Superstars he would like to be guests on Backstage and all five of them have one thing in common.

CM Punk broke the internet when he was revealed by Renee Young on Backstage last month. The (sort of) return to WWE that most of his fans had assumed was never going to happen. Since then, Punk has appeared on the show two more times. The first appearance was a little awkward, but his showing this week felt a lot more comfortable.

The highlight of Punk's appearance on Backstage this past Tuesday was his idea for the Rusev, Lana, Bobby Lashley storyline. That both men get sick of her and team up to take on two other Superstars in a "Loser Keeps Lana" match. Lana did not take kindly to the idea, and also didn't appreciate Punk calling her "chica" on Twitter.

We're not sure whether this is a response to Lana claiming Punk's tweet was "misogynistic," but the former WWE Champion has reeled off who he wants to see next on Backstage. The reason we think it might be a response to Lana? All five of Punk's choices are female Superstars. Punk's list includes Bayley, Sasha Banks, Rhea Ripley, Asuka, and Kairi Sane.

Chances are the tweet has nothing to do with Lana and these are legitimately the wrestlers Punk is interested in meeting next. The Second City Saint did joke about catching up with almost six years of wrestling. Perhaps he is up to date and has discovered, along with the rest of us, that women's wrestling in WWE the past few years has been some of the best stuff the company has had to offer.

It should also be noted that Punk is married to one of the Superstars who kicked off the current era of women's wrestling in WWE, AJ Lee. In the comments beneath the tweet above, Lee, confirms that she is "very retired" but would be up for popping by Backstage for coffee and snacks. WWE on FOX's Twitter account also replied to the tweet, implying that they have made a note of Punk's request for guests.
