CM Punk once knocked a tooth out of Michael Cole's mouth, four hours before the announcer was due to wrestle Jerry Lawler at WrestleMania XXVII.

One man we don't think gets enough credit when fans discuss the very best wrestlers of all time is Jerry Lawler. Due to Lawler wrestling the majority of his career in one territory, he doesn't even cross the minds of many when debating the best ever. Plus, since he has been an announcer for WWE for more than two decades, younger fans might not even realize what he did before.

Perhaps the biggest travesty of all is that Lawler has only ever competed in the ring at WrestleMania once. It's not so much that he only got to have one WrestleMania match, but that the one match might be the worst in the event's history. A gimmick match against fellow announcer Michael Cole. Cole recently revealed that Vince McMahon described the match as "the worst thing I've ever witnessed."

That wasn't the only thing Cole revealed about the debacle of a match during a recent appearance on After The Bell. A few hours before WrestleMania XXVII went live, Cole and Lawler were in the ring running through their match. For reasons still unknown to Cole, CM Punk, who would wrestle Randy Orton later that night, joined them in the ring. Punk ran at Cole and hit the announcer with a knee lift.

The trouble is Punk actually hit Cole with his knee. "My tooth goes flying, there’s blood everywhere," Cole revealed. Punk immediately panicked and started to apologize, telling Cole he would pay for his dental work. "I’m not worried about my dental work, I’m about to lose the biggest payday of my career because you knocked my tooth out," Cole went on to say.

It should be highlighted at this point that Cole started this story by explaining that he and Punk are friends, and the accident was not malicious in any way. The bad news for Cole that day was his dental woes were far from over. During the match with Lawler, Cole got hit in the mouth with a missile dropkick that knocked out another tooth. All of that for what might be the worst match in WrestleMania history.
