CM Punk did not take kindly to The Miz poking fun at his "change the culture" comments made during his first appearance on WWE Backstage.

2020 is here and we still live in a world where CM Punk is once again a part of the wrestling bubble. Not only were we convinced that he would never return, but after getting a glimpse of what WWE is five years on from his departure, we didn't think he would stick around. That has not happened, and Punk is still a part of the WWE Backstage team.

Punk made his first appearance on the show all the way back on November 12, 2019. That was the night Renee Young revealed to the world that the former WWE Champion would be a part of Backstage. Punk made a short and sweet appearance to close the show, stating to the camera that just when they change the questions, he returns to change the culture.

Punk was not in the studio for the show this week and will not return until the episode airing on January 21, 2020. That meant he couldn't respond to comments made by The Miz after the show had gone off the air. WWE on FOX tweeted a clip of Miz asking if his appearance on the show had made it the best episode of Backstage to date. When Young said no, Miz replied, "Oh, sorry I didn't change the culture."

A light-hearted jab at Punk, but not one The Second City Saint took very well. Punk replied to the clip with a very NSFW tweet of his own. "Go suck a blood money covered d*ck in Saudi Arabia you f*cking dork," the reply read. Yikes. That tweet did not stay up for long, with Wrestling Inc. estimating that Punk removed it some time between 2 am and 2:32 am EST.

Despite Punk being adamant that he won't return to the ring or start any angles on Backstage, he sure is doing a good job of making enemies right off the bat. He and Seth Rollins clashed straight away, and now The Miz has crossed his path. Should Punk return at WrestleMania 36, no offense to The Miz, but we can't imagine fans will react kindly to that being his comeback match.
