Cody Rhodes recently claimed that he's extremely happy right now because he's one of the top three highest paid wrestlers in the business.

Cody Rhodes has been breaking the pro wrestling mold since he decided to leave WWE and go it alone on the independent circuit. The man formerly known as Stardust believed he was being under utilized in WWE and the work he has done since parting ways with the promotion have proved that to be true beyond a shadow of a doubt.

It started with a list of opponents that Cody wanted to face and as far as we can tell he has wrestled everyone on there, aside from Roderick Strong who signed for NXT before Cody got the chance to face him. The American Nightmare has also had a run as Ring Of Honor World Champion and is a key member of the Bullet Club.

Cody hasn't been one to be modest about his accomplishments since leaving WWE. He tells it like it is and recently did that once again on Twitter. A fan asked the star whether he would be a rich mid-carder or an under paid main eventer. Cody replied that he would choose a third option, happy. He then said he is currently living that third option thanks to his wife and the fact that he is one of the top three highest paid people in his industry.

Of all the statements and claims that Cody has made during his relatively short time as an independent wrestler this is by far the boldest. If what he's saying is to be believed then there are only two wrestlers in the world right now who are earning more than he is. Presumably those wrestlers are John Cena and Brock Lesnar, something another fan brought up in response to Cody's claim to which he replied 'I ain't making that Ferdinand money'.

While it's hard to believe that Cody is the third highest paid wrestler on the planet right now what's for sure is that he is making more money than he was in WWE wearing face paint. That's why he and The Young Bucks feel pretty confident when it comes to putting together their own indy show, one that they hope draws 10,000 fans later this year.
