In case you didn't know, WWE legend and Hall of Famer Booker T wasn't the least bit pleased when he learned that he was taken off of the Monday Night Raw announce team. It was later announced that Jonathan Coachman was brought back on a full-time contract, taking Booker T off the show.
Needless to say, Booker T isn't taking the demotion from the announcing team well. Appearing on the Heated Conversations podcast, he ripped into Raw color man Corey Graves, and blamed him for losing the job:
“If I got Corey Graves into a fist a cuff, I would beat him down like he stole something. I would be whipping his ass all day long.I’m a nice guy until you get on my bad side. Corey Graves right now, I wouldn’t necessarily say he’s on my bad side [but] he’s the reason that I’m not on Monday Night Raw right now.”
So Booker T essentially threatened to beat up a fellow WWE announcer, and claimed he would do something to Graves, "if he catches Corey Graves on the street."
Graves issued a statement, seemingly firing back at Booker T for his rant and threats:
“Thus the expert in battle moves the enemy, and is not moved by him.”— Corey Graves (@WWEGraves) February 5, 2018
(Yes, this is what you think it is)
Booker T has mainly been used as a part-time commentator since retiring from in-ring competition. In 2015, he briefly replaced fellow Hall of Famer Jerry 'The King' Lawler, but was eventually replaced by Byron Saxton.
Last year, Booker T replaced David Otunga on the Raw brand, after the latter was used as an analyst for pre-shows. With Coachman being brought back to take over for Booker full time, it's clear that the wrestling legend is simply getting frustrated with being replaced time-and-time again.
Booker T took a huge risk in ranting against a fellow employee, whilst also threatening him. WWE has no tolerance for tension like this between their workers, but they have yet to take action on Booker T's words.
At the end of the day, Graves is still succeeding as a color commentator on Raw. Booker T's future as an announcer is unclear, so it's safe to say that Graves is enjoying the last laugh right now.
