If we were to judge people based on what we see on television, then it would be easy to point out the unpleasant ones. But contrary to popular belief, not all wrestlers who play heels on television are unpleasant in real life and vice versa. To be considered for this list, we opted to exclude any scripted heel moments that may have made fans hate a wrestler. As we look at wrestlers' relationships with each other, family members and fans, it is easy to point out which of them fall under the less than pleasant category. For most fans, it is always quite the task to base our judgments based upon what we know.

And what we see on television doesn't draw an accurate picture of how wrestlers behave in real life. There have been many top faces revealed to be less than pleasant in real life, which is always disappointing to hear since it makes it tough to view them in the same light. Some fans choose to ignore these shady actions - depending on the wrestler - to justify their support. With so much information being made available to the public, fans are now familiar with their favourite wrestlers more than ever as they have access to stories from the past as well as reports around the web.

And we also have fans reporting on their meet and greet with wrestlers - especially the bad cases - which always get coverage from the media. With today's list, we go through 8 current and former WWE stars who aren't so pleasant in real life.

16 Current Superstar: Seth Rollins

via pinterest.com

If we were to judge Seth Rollins based on what we know about his WWE character, then most would agree that he comes across as a gentleman. But a quick Google search will prove you otherwise since he has reportedly acted standoffish towards fans on several occasions. Apparently he truly doesn't care about meeting fans - and while he is entitled to that - it doesn't excuse his behaviour.

That is not to mention the many scandals involving him with ex-girlfriends, including the time he was exposed for having an affair. Being unfaithful is more than enough to earn someone a label as unpleasant, but if we were to give Rollins a pass for that, then we still can't overlook how he treats fans. And since he is currently one of the top fan favourites in the WWE, that will be disappointing to hear for many readers.

15 Former Superstar: Shawn Michaels

via wrestlingmedia.com

It's no secret that Shawn Michaels was once the least liked man in the wrestling industry. Most other Superstars would have gotten fired for his actions in the 90s, as he used to clash with multiple co-workers from Vader to Bret Hart. Michaels played backstage politics to maintain his spot while also attempting to hold back others - and if that isn't enough, he ruined several personal relationships.

He got in between Sunny and Chris Candido to separate them, and then ruined Bret's marriage by claiming he was having "Sunny days". And during that time, there are some horrific stories about fans who met Michaels only to be turned down in the rudest possible way. Upon his return to the WWE, he had cleaned up his act and was no longer causing problems backstage, although some still did question his attitude and intentions with some of his behaviour.

14 Current Superstar: Dolph Ziggler

via stillrealtous.com

Dolph Ziggler has previously admitted to being somewhat unpleasant in real life, so case closed for this entry. But in case you were looking for further justification, he has also not had the best history with fans. Many have previously complained that he comes across as arrogant in real life and can be rude to fans. Not surprising to hear since many WWE Superstars fall under that category, but it seems like Ziggler doesn't exactly get along with his peers either.

He only has a few friends in the WWE locker room with whom he gets along with very well - but as for the rest, Ziggler doesn't have any relationship with them. Ziggler's attitude in interviews, as well as some of his stories, only prove that he is indeed capable of being unpleasant. He could use some of those qualities to portray a better heel on screen.

13 Former Superstar: Hulk Hogan

via today.com

Hulk Hogan is the biggest face in professional wrestling history. Not only did he portray one for the majority of his career, but his entire gimmick was that of a face. As we have come to learn, that was simply Hogan playing a role on television. In real life, he was playing politics backstage to further his career while also derailing anybody whom he deemed as a threat to his spot. Hogan used to always refuse to lose matches, and would begin throwing a tantrum upon a disagreement.

He has gone out of his way to sabotage matches when the result wasn't up to his approval. And if you ask fellow wrestlers, you are going to find plenty of them who have beef with Hogan. And lastly, his inexcusable rant that leaked with the infamous tape tarnished any respect that most fans still had for Hogan outside of the ring.

12 Current Superstar: Paige

via givemesport.com

In the past year, Paige has remained in the headlines for various years. At first, it was due to a scandal that broke out involving her adult photos and tapes that leaked on the internet. And that led to delay her return which created even further speculation. When Paige finally returned to the ring, it didn't last too long as she got injured once again. And while fans have been rooting for her inside the ring, she isn't as likeable in real life.

Many fans have complained about her being rude in person, which may surprise some to learn. Paige has also had issues with multiple wrestlers, clashing with them on screen and backstage. During an episode of Total Divas, Paige really got into with former WWE Superstar Cameron and was acting very disrespectful towards her, as well as her friends for trying to intervene.

11 Former Superstar: Melina

via therichest.com

Melina was one of the most popular Divas of the mid 2000s, but despite her success, she wasn't liked backstage. In fact, Melina was released from the company for that very same reason, as she had clashed with multiple figures from management to fellow wrestlers. With her attitude getting too annoying, WWE decided to move on from Melina and even released John Morrison since they didn't want her to stick around since they were still a couple at the time.

Many Divas have had some harsh words to say about Melina for her backstage antics. She also had multiple affairs while dating Morrison, which makes her unpleasant by default even if Morrison forgave her afterwards. And based on what we have read from fan reports, Melina isn't exactly any different towards fans either and her arrogance seems to off-putting for a lot of people.

10 Current Superstar: Randy Orton

via pinterest.com

If you aren't aware that Randy Orton is unpleasant in real life by now, then you are likely a huge fan of his who chooses to ignore it. He has had attitude issues since coming into the WWE with many believing that he was too immature. And his actions certainly reflected on it, as he used to pull some cruel pranks on fellow wrestlers that weren't greatly appreciated. On top of that, many former Divas, including Maria, have called out Orton for being disrespectful to the women in the WWE locker room.

But his problems go beyond the ring since Orton has clashed with fans as well. Not many Superstars have had nearly as much problems with fans as he has. From bullying a woman on social media to throwing a fan's camera away, Orton has definitely earned being called one of the less pleasant employees in WWE history.

9 Former Superstar: Scott Hall

via blogspot.com

Everyone has always rooted for Scott Hall to get better health wise, and get his life back on track. But as time went by, fans weren't as supportive since they learned that Hall has been unpleasant in real life. Even if we choose to ignore the years when he was battling addiction as well as personal problems, there have always been stories about Hall acting unpleasantly for no legitimate reason.

In the past decade, he has been one of the most unreliable wrestlers as he has failed to show up to many events from wrestling shows to meet and greets. And there have been incidents that took place due to Hall's antics creating a mess. When it comes to fans, it seems like their experiences have been different. Some have had luck in a positive experience with meeting Hall, while others were disappointed to have done so.

8 Current Superstar: Sasha Banks

via pwmania.com

Sasha Banks is living proof that not all faces are sweethearts in real life. In some of her promos, she comes across as a truly likeable person who appreciates all fan support, but such is not the case in real life. Banks has been criticized the most out of all current Superstar for her attitude towards fans. Many have reported online that meeting Banks wasn't the treat they were expecting, as she acted rude towards them.

There have been reports of Banks constantly ignoring fans or waving them off in a rude way. And while she claims that she loves meeting fans but not at the airport, many of the mentioned stories happened at random locations. On top of being mean towards fans, Banks doesn't exactly get along with all of her peers. She has had problems with Lana and Alexa Bliss in the past - both of whom are liked backstage.

7 Former Superstar: CM Punk

via mmaweekly.com

Fans have had conflicting feelings about CM Punk. On one hand, he is one of the best Superstars in recent history. But he is also one of the least pleasant in real life, and doesn't shy away from the fact that he is. Many fans have reported clashes with Punk due to his rudeness in real life. There have been quite a few instances where he was largely at fault, and yet some fans chose to ignore it.

But not only is CM Punk confrontational towards fans, he is also the same way with his peers. He doesn't have too many friends in the industry and has had problems with a number of wrestlers. And while we admire his talent, we are always disappointed to learn about his real life behaviour. But of course that doesn't mean that most fans won't still be changing his name for a return.

6 Current Superstar: Sheamus

via wwe.com

Sheamus has portrayed a heel for most of his WWE career, and yet we always got a vibe that he would turn out to be a gentleman in real life. Unfortunately, that isn't the case as Sheamus has had some complaints from fans who have met him in person. They complained about him being rude and dismissive of his supporters. That isn't a great strategy for a wrestler who is already struggling to be over in the first place.

Sin Cara and Yoshi Tatsu were both disrespected by Sheamus on different occasions, and ended up putting him in his rightful place. Maybe Sheamus has finally learned a lesson and has cleaned up his act. He hasn't gotten into any backstage fights in a while, so that is a positive sign. The next step is for him to improve his treatment of fans since they may not be around for too long.

5 Former Superstar: Batista

via blogspot.com

Batista is one of the biggest Superstars of the 2000s who is slowly but surely transitioning into a Hollywood actor. Despite his tremendous success in both industries, we cannot overlook some past actions that earn him the unpleasant label. For starters, he had become involved with Melina while he was still married. And when his wife was diagnosed with cancer, Batista continued to hit the road. While he did state his regrets for his past behaviour, it is inexcusable.

Batista also slept with Melina, who was dating his co-worker John Morrison at the time, which is definitely breaking the industry code. Many wrestlers also shared that very same feeling, believing that Batista was too arrogant in the locker room - which led to a fight with Booker T. And considering that Booker was speaking on behalf of the SmackDown roster, that only proves that Batista is indeed unpleasant.

4 Current Superstar: Triple H

via wwe.com

When it comes to Triple H, opinions will be mixed regarding this topic although it is important that you separate what we see on screen and what goes on behind the scene. Back in the day, when Triple H hadn't transitioned into a management role yet, there were many stories about Triple H being rude to fans. And he didn't get to be such a huge Superstar without playing backstage politics as he screwed over many wrestlers over the course of his career.

Triple H has been accused of holding back many names, especially in the mid 2000s, as he went out of his way to sabotage them in order to stay on top. And that made him many enemies in the industry. Lastly, Triple H was dating Chyna for years with plans of a marriage coming up until he had an affair with Stephanie McMahon.

3 Former Superstar: Bubba Ray Dudley

via pinterest.com

For years, Bubba Ray Dudley formed one of the best and most influential tag teams of all time along with his partner D-Von. But as popular as they were with wrestling audiences, the two Superstars couldn't be any more different. D-Von was viewed as a nice guy who easily gets along with everyone, and treats the fans well. On the other hand, Bubba was the exact opposite - engaging in multiple rivalries with wrestlers while also having issues with fans at meet and greets.

Even his partner D-Von has previously admitted that his partner can be pretty unpleasant in real life, although they always got along well. But when your own kayfabe brother makes such statement, there isn't much to argue about. If you happen to be a fan of Bubba Ray, you are better off admiring him through the screen rather than in person.

2 Current Superstar: Brock Lesnar

via reddit.com

Not only is Brock Lesnar unpleasant, but he is proud to be as well. His industry friends are very few as Lesnar has always distanced himself from most of the locker room. He used to get along with Kurt Angle and The Undertaker, but didn't get too close with the rest of the roster. In fact, he has several problems with fellow wrestlers due to his jerk behaviour. He has clashed with Randy Orton, Chris Jericho and several others throughout his career, and that's not to mention that he admitted to hating meeting people.

Since Lesnar doesn't like to be surrounded with people, he tries to avoid the spotlight as much as possible. And he realizes that it may turn off some people away from him, but he doesn't care at all as he has proudly admitted to being less than pleasant in the past. And based on his life, it has worked out well for him.

1 Former Superstar: Scott Steiner

via pinterest.com

Scott Steiner was once considered to be among WCW's best wrestlers, as he stood up among their roster at the time. But he declined at a quick pace although he was pushed more than ever for the next few years, and Steiner focused mostly on his biceps. When he came over to the WWE, he was difficult to work with and many complained about him. Steiner wasn't giving his best effort and working reckless at times.

As his work got worse, Steiner's role decreased which led to even more problems behind the scenes. WWE eventually released him from the company, and Steiner has most notably worked for TNA since then. But he has been in the news thanks to his outspoken persona - which only further proved that was indeed unpleasant in real life. And the fans who have met him always seem to agree that he acts unpleasant all the time.
