The life of a wrestler can provide a grueling schedule with the high number of shows in different locations. WWE stars have among the roughest schedules in all of sports and entertainment. Most weekends will see wrestlers have matches on four different shows in different cities. Factor in the wear and tear on one’s body from the bumps, and you’ll see why it’s considered such a tough job. Independent wrestling schedules of shows and conventions also provide a tough schedule to stay ahead of. There have been many fathers on the WWE roster for years, but mothers have been less of a fixture.

Prior eras have seen the new mothers choose to retire from the ring giving birth. WWE also chose to ditch the ladies once they were pregnant which led to quite the controversy in the past. That has changed for the better today. There are a few mothers on the active WWE roster making the towns every week to participate on shows. Other instances have seen WWE give the new mothers maternity leave while remaining under contract. We will look at the landscape of moms in the wrestling business. These are seven WWE stars and eight former WWE stars that are now mothers.

15 Former: Beth Phoenix

WWE has introduced new fans to Beth Phoenix in recent years with her Hall of Fame induction and a role doing commentary for various special matches. Phoenix was among the best women’s wrestlers of her time back when WWE gave less time to the women’s division. Beth would have been a huge star today if given the chance of the current women, but she doesn’t seem to want a full-time wrestling schedule again.

One reason Phoenix would be hesitant to return to the ring is the fact that she has a family. Beth and her husband Edge have two daughters named Ruby and Lyric. The girls got to see their mother get inducted into the Hall of Fame. Beth appeared for WWE once per week to commentate the Mixed Match Challenge, but it is unlikely she’ll ever agree to working three to five shows per week.

14 Current: Mickie James

Mickie James is a future Hall of Famer for her accomplishments in WWE and beyond. The matches of Mickie gave us some of the best women’s bouts of the 2000s back when it was rare to see the division stand out. James had a strong career in her time between WWE stints. Impact Wrestling was the main home of Mickie where she met her future husband Magnus.

James gave birth to the couple’s first child Donovan back in 2014. The return of Mickie saw one of the rare instances of WWE welcoming a mother onto the active full-time women’s roster. James’ child is getting to experience his mother wrestling on national television at a young age rather than having to watch back 2006 content on the WWE Network.

13 Former: Brooke Adams

Brooke Adams is a unique story of a former WWE women’s wrestling star finding more success outside of the company. The stunning Adams was mostly remembered for being part of the Extreme Expose doing the eye candy dances for the ECW brand. Brooke left wrestling for a few years before getting a deal with TNA.

Adams started training to become a better wrestler when making her debut for the Knockouts division. Her career started thriving as a very entertaining wrestler and arguably the most popular woman during her peak. Brooke recently became a mother in 2016 when she gave birth to her son Jace. She appeared on the TLC Network’s show Rattled looking at her story of entering motherhood. Brooke has stated being a mother is the best thing to ever happen to her.

12 Current: Maria Kanellis

The return of Maria Kanellis on WWE television was short lived for multiple reasons. Her husband Mike Kanellis missed a few weeks when dealing with his addiction to prescription pills. The couple saw their push end faster than expected on the SmackDown brand. Once Mike returned to the roster, he was without his wife and manager Maria due to her being pregnant.

Maria recently announced the birth of their daughter Freddie Moon Kanellis during the week of WrestleMania 34. It was an action-packed week for Mike becoming a father, meeting his music hero Kid Rock and performing in the Andre battle royal. Maria was getting accustomed to becoming a mother as seen with various posts on her social media pages. Past interviews have seen Maria say she hopes to return to WWE a few months after giving birth.

11 Former: Christy Hemme

Christy Hemme left WWE over a decade ago and has had a few different roles in the wrestling business. A few injuries in TNA forced her to retire faster than expected due to various lingering injuries. Hemme became a ring announcer for many years along with multiple backstage jobs. The most interesting title was becoming part of the writing team as a rare case of a female writer in wrestling.

Hemme has become a mother in her time away from WWE. She and her husband had their first child Charlie Rose in 2015. However, motherhood became even more intense when Hemme gave birth to quadruplets welcoming another four kids into the family. Christy still appears at wrestling conventions and was at WrestleMania 34 weekend for WrestleCon.

10 Current: Tamina Snuka

A lesser known story of a mother on the active WWE roster is Tamina Snuka. WWE tends to reference her family when reminding us she is the daughter of late Hall of Famer Jimmy Snuka or being a relative of The Usos. However, we rarely get a glimpse into Tamina’s life compared to the other ladies of WWE. Tamina doesn’t get featured on Total Divas and gets less television time making her life more of a surprise to fans.

It was revealed that Tamina is the mother of two daughters named Milaneta and Maleata. Wrestling is not only a family tradition but a job she uses to help provide for her two kids. Tamina has been a part of the WWE main roster for over seven years now making it very impressive that she is able to juggle being a mother and a Superstar.

9 Former: Sable

The WWE career of Sable saw her become arguably the first major female star. Sable’s initial run as a manager for Marc Mero ended with crowds cheering her instead of him on a weekly basis. WWE split them up and pushed Sable in a major way. Sable had the look and charisma needed to succeed in the Attitude Era. A second return to WWE in 2003 saw Sable meet Brock Lesnar leading to them eventually getting married.

Sable has children with Lesnar and has a few other kids from a prior marriage long before her entry into the wrestling world. The life of motherhood is essentially how Sable spends her time these days. Brock and Sable have moved their family to a private farm in Canada. Despite Lesnar being a huge part of WWE for the past few years, Sable has not been around and has no interest in being seen again.

8 Current: Stephanie McMahon

Stephanie McMahon works countless roles for WWE as one of the most important people in the company. The official title of Stephanie is the Chief Brand Officer of WWE. Stephanie has been setting up this future where she and Triple H runs the company whenever Vince McMahon decides to give up his role. Even before it happens, Stephanie is a huge reason for the various business success stories for WWE in recent years.

Along with being an on-screen character and working daily at WWE offices, Stephanie is the mother of three children. Triple H and Stephanie have three daughters named Vaughn, Murphy and Aurora. Their children are huge fans of the product and are often in the crowd for big shows. Stephanie was seen kissing them after her return match against Brie Bella in 2014.

7 Former: Ashley Massaro

Ashley Massaro was one of the few mothers to work for the WWE roster in the 2000s. The Diva Search saw Massaro dominate the fan voting to win a guaranteed contract with WWE. Fans often gave Ashley among the biggest ovations each week during her peak run on Raw and SmackDown. Massaro even received mainstream opportunities like posing for Playboy and appearing on the Survivor reality show.

The duties of being a mother ended up causing her to end her WWE run early. Ashley requested her release to get off the road and go home when her daughter was dealing with an illness. Massaro still does appearances at various small shows and autograph appearances. Her social media pages have seen her share her happiness of being a mother as her daughter is doing well today. There’s no regret for Ashley leaving WWE to take care of her sick child.

6 Current: Maryse

The most recent high-profile instance of a WWE star becoming a mother for the first time saw Maryse give birth to the first child of her and The Miz. Fans were able to take in the relationship between Miz and Maryse on air over the past few years when Maryse returned to WWE as his manager. The couple showed their chemistry in a major way. Maryse’s return helped spotlight Miz and bring him to another level as a top star.

The couple announced Maryse would be leaving WWE when the revelation was made that she was pregnant. Miz and Maryse saw their daughter Monroe Sky enter the world in March. WWE television has already shown us that Miz has witnessed his life change for the better. Their upcoming reality series Miz and Mrs. will likely give us a glimpse at Maryse’s journey becoming a mother.

5 Former: Candice Michelle

Candice Michelle was one of the most surprising success stories of the women’s division in the 2000s. The original hiring of Candice came thanks to her background in modeling, especially the raunchy GoDaddy ads that were deemed controversial when airing during the Super Bowl. Michelle worked on her wrestling skills and became a capable in-ring performer en route to winning the Divas Championship.

WWE released Candice in 2009 leading to her devoting most of her time to family. She became a mother giving birth to AkiAnne, Ryumi and Aloha over the past decade. Michelle officially retired from wrestling last year when coming back for one more match in her hometown of Wisconsin for House of Hardcore. Candice’s kids were able to see their mother compete one last time.

4 Current: Lacey Evans

Lacey Evans is one of the ladies in NXT right now with a chance to shine in the women’s division. The call-ups of Ruby Riott, Sonya Deville, Ember Moon and The Iconic Duo have opened opportunities for the women in the Performance Center. Evans is currently getting time to develop as a heel personality. The background of being a former Marine gives her another dynamic to her presentation.

Evans has a hectic life at home off the road as a mother. Her daughter Summer is four years old and enjoys seeing her perform in the ring. Lacey is hoping to become a huge success story in wrestling as one of the few ladies to enter the business as a mother and progress forward. The motivation of having a child is one thing driving Evans to become a success story.

3 Former: Eve Torres

Eve Torres became a top female performer for WWE between 2008 and 2013. The athleticism and personality of Eve made her a standout talent for WWE. Eve was always one of the people selected to do the PR work for WWE considering how great she was at representing the company. Her WWE accomplishments saw her win the Divas Championship on three occasions.

The end of Torres’ run in WWE came when she requested her release to start her life with husband Rener Gracie as well launch her own self-defense project. Eve became a mother in her time away giving birth to a boy named Raeven. WWE still has a good relationship with Eve as she is currently under a legends contract. Eve not being part of the women’s Royal Rumble or Raw 25 special were likely choices made by her rather than WWE. She's expecting another boy in the near future.

2 Current: Naomi

via humornation.com

Naomi is one of the top women on the WWE roster today. Her prior SmackDown Women’s Championship run was impressive as she became the face of the SD women’s division for most of 2017. A long road for Naomi saw her overcome quite a few bad gimmicks and years of poor booking to finally get her chance during the brand split.

Many fans are aware of Naomi being married to fellow WWE star Jimmy Uso. Naomi became a stepmother to the two children of Jimmy’s from a prior relationship. While she didn’t give birth to them, Naomi is passionate about her mothering duties when spending time with the kids. Total Divas showed her genuine fears when entering motherhood, but she was eventually able to win them over.

1 Former: Stacy Keibler

via people.com

Stacy Keibler is one of the biggest female stars in WWE history despite not being much of an in-ring competitor. The looks and personality of Stacy found her success in WCW. WWE made the decision to extend her contract when purchasing WCW, and Keibler was one of the few talents to get a push when moving over. Stacy had a great run with WWE for years until looking to branch out into Hollywood after a run on Dancing with the Stars.

The acting career didn’t work out for Keibler in the way she expected as most of her roles were b-list gigs. Stacy seems to be content out of the public spotlight today. She and her husband Jared Pobre welcomed their daughter Ava Grace into the world back in 2014. Stacy’s life these days are being a happy mother, and this is one reason why she doesn’t make many appearances anymore.
