The hype surrounding Dana Brooke and Batista might have died down on social media, but the former gave a cheeky nod to it on SmackDown this week.

Wrestling relationships often make the headlines for a variety of different reasons. However, we did not expect to be writing so much about Dana Brooke and Batista in 2019. In fact, up until a couple of weeks ago, we didn't expect to be writing about them at all. The new couple (can we call them that? Is it official?) has been causing quite the stir.

It all started when Batista revealed on Twitter that he is newly single. That led to someone proposing he and Brooke hook up and clearly, both parties liked the idea. That led to some very public flirting on social media which left the rest of the wrestling world feeling equal parts fascinated and uncomfortable.

As for where exactly the two are in their relationship, that is currently a mystery. However, we're assuming it is going well as Brooke tipped her cap to her new love interest on SmackDown this week. The hype surrounding Brooke on social media has led to her getting more TV time. Last night on SmackDown, it even led to her standing across the ring from Women's Champion, Bayley.

Brooke might have lost the match, but she still got in a fair bit of offense. That offense included a move her soon-to-be Hall of Fame boyfriend made famous, the Batista Bomb. Brooke loaded Bayley up for the move using the turnbuckle and slammed the champ to the mat. Well executed, even if it wasn't a match-winning move, and perhaps Batista has been teaching Brooke how to perform the move in person.

As for the future of Brooke and Batista, if they have indeed met up and there's a spark, the next steps of their relationship will likely be kept private. Batista has been making all sorts of headlines this past couple of weeks as not only does he have a new woman in his life, but he will also be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame next year. Perhaps if all goes to plan, Brooke will be his date for the night on April 2, 2020.
