There were rumors that Daniel Bryan's WWE contract ends on September 23rd but the SmackDown Live GM has confirmed that not to be the case.

For months wrestling fans have been trying to guess and work out exactly when Daniel Bryan's current WWE contract comes to an end. The main reason for that is because the former World Heavyweight Champion was throwing out not so thinly veiled hints that as soon as his contract ended he would leave for a company that would let him return to the ring.

Well hopefully Bryan won't have to resort to that now. Not too long ago the SmackDown Live GM said that if he wasn't cleared by WWE before WrestleMania 34 then he likely never would be. Perhaps he already knew something that we didn't back then although Bryan has claimed that he wasn't told he had been cleared until the day before the news was broken to the rest of the world.

Either way Bryan is back, and apparently the date we all landed on for what we believed to be the one when his WWE contract would end was the wrong one. Most thought that it would be on September 23rd but Bryan recently told Al Arabiya that's not the case. 'My contract actually runs out September 1st,' Bryan revealed, questioning how anyone outside of WWE would know otherwise.

At the time of typing this that dispute seems immaterial now. Whereas this time last week many fans would have been counting down the days to September 23rd (or rather Septmeber 1st) in the hope that Bryan would take his leave and wrestle again, now they'll be hoping he signs an extension. His clearance to wrestle by WWE means there is a list of dream matches involving Bryan as long as your arm and we can't wait for them to get started.

For the time being though it seems as if Bryan's first match back will be a tag team affair at WrestleMania 34. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn viciously attacked the General Manager after he fired the two of them on Tuesday night. All of that points to the two fired Superstars returning for a two on two match against Bryan and Shane McMahon on The Grandest Stage Of Them All.
