Daniel Bryan's contract with the WWE expires on Sept. 1, but fans have no reason to worry about the former World Champion leaving - because WWE appears determined to sign him long-term.

According to PWInsider.com (h/t WrestleZone), Bryan may have already signed a new deal with the WWE, even though it hasn't been formally announced. On top of that, it's being reported that they want to sign Bryan to a five-year contract, the same terms they recently gave to The Miz and Kevin Owens.

However, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reported that Bryan has not re-signed at this time. It's also worth mentioning that WWE has advertised Bryan to appear at the Super Show-Down event on Oct. 6 in Melbourne, Australia. That definitely teases that a new contract has been signed, or at the very least that WWE has zero concerns about him departing when the current deal expires.

Before Bryan was cleared by WWE to return to the ring, there was massive speculation that he would leave when his contract expired to wrestle for another promotion - perhaps New Japan Pro-Wrestling or Ring of Honor. But now that he's back and as good as ever, there's no reason to believe Bryan and WWE will fail in reaching an agreement on a new contract.

Bryan is arguably the most beloved superstar in all of WWE today, and his return has been a massive success thus far. He recently got through Big Cass at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, and now looks to be in line for another main event title push.

Besides The Miz and Owens, WWE has also recently extended Dolph Ziggler and Sasha Banks to new deals. Officials are determined to make sure top talents are locked up long-term. Up next, a new deal for Daniel Bryan.
