The Dungeons & Dragons moral alignment chart is used to help players place their characters into a specific category based on their identity and morals. They are often shown to be either good, evil, or neutral. From there, they then split into lawful or chaotic, and by taking those traits, there are then nine different moral alignments that any specific character falls into.

In the world of WWE, colorful characters take part in feuds and wrestling matches. These characters often split into two categories — faces (good) and heels (evil). Some are also a shade of grey, such as Stone Cold Steve Austin. After that, the wrestler's styles also fall into lawful and chaotic, or often neutral, making them a perfect example of this alignment categorization. Here is a look at the D&D character alignments of WWE legends.

10 MR. MCMAHON - LAWFUL EVIL

Vince McMahon took over WWE from his father and created WrestleMania. The rest is history. However, in the Attitude Era, he took an onscreen role as Mr. McMahon and became the biggest heel in the company as he battled Stone Cold Steve Austin.

However, while he was the top heel, he was also the boss. As the Chairman of WWE, he was able to make the rules and enforce them as he wished. He made rules in his favor, bent rules to punish those who opposed him, and became one of the most diabolical men in WWE history. Lawful evil is also known as the Dominator, and that is what Mr. McMahon represented in WWE.

9 STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN - CHAOTIC NEUTRAL

Stone Cold Steve Austin cared about one person — Stone Cold Steve Austin. He fought against "The Man" in his war with Mr. McMahon but was not afraid to drop someone on their head when they got in his way, from the good to the evil of WWE's Attitude Era.

The Chaotic Neutral is the "free spirit" of the Dungeons & Dragons character alignment chart, and that descrives Austin to a tee. He does what he wants when he wants and refused to follow the rules while challenging traditions. Austin is the easiest person in WWE history to categorize, seeking to eliminate authority, and seek out true freedom.

8 RIC FLAIR - NEUTRAL EVIL

Nature Boy Ric Flair is one of the greatest heels in the entire history of professional wrestling. Known as the Malefactor, Flair fits the D&D character alignment of the Neutral Evil. Flair is a true villain who does whatever he can get away with and is only out for one person -- Ric Flair.

He has no problem betraying anyone to get what he wants, as he proved over and over with Sting in WCW. He has no illusion that following rules and traditions will mean anything in reaching his goals. Flair calls himself the dirtiest player in the game, holding up his entire idea of evil as a high ideal.

7 MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE - True NEUTRAL

Macho Man Randy Savage is a pure Neutral figure when it comes to the D&D character alignment chart. He was a heel for much of his career, hated by fans for the fact that he would cheat and try to hurt his opponents while treating the one person who loved him poorly every chance he got.

However, Savage was also someone who doesn't care one way or the other whether he is good or evil. He does what he does because it is the best for him and actually has moral beliefs when standing up for what he believes in. He is very close to chaotic but has enough virtue that he will do the right thing when he sees it.

6 HULK HOGAN - NEUTRAL GOOD

If you ask Hulk Hogan or his millions of Hulkamaniacs, he is a Lawful Good character. However, his D&D character alignment is more closely aligned with Neutral Good. This is, of course, WWE Hulk Hogan and not the WCW nWo Hollywood Hogan version, which is clearly a Neutral Evil character.

Either way, he is Neutral and never Lawful nor Chaotic. As a babyface, Hogan is considered a good person who does the best that he can do. He helps others and does what he believes is the right thing for good and order. However, he also advances his own goals over those of others around him and has never been as pure as he believed.

5 ULTIMATE WARRIOR - CHAOTIC GOOD

The Ultimate Warrior came running into WWE as a colorful monster babyface. He always served the side of good, but he was never a pure babyface and never worked as a truly neutral character. Instead, Warrior was a force of nature and easily categorized in WWE as a Chaotic Good D&D character type.

Known as a rebel, Ultimate Warrior tore through everyone that he saw as evil. He made his way and was kind and good but had very little use for rules and regulations. He won't let people intimidate others, and he follows his moral compass no matter what anyone else believes.

4 JAKE ROBERTS - CHAOTIC EVIL

If Ultimate Warrior were Chaotic Good, then Jake "The Snake" Roberts would perfectly slide into the D&D character alignment of the Chaotic Evil. Honestly, even when Jake was a fan favorite, he was at his core a purely evil wrestling character.

Jake brought his snake Damien to the ring with him, and the snake and its name alone showed that Jake was aligning himself on the side of evil. Chaotic Evil is also known as the Destroyer or demonic, which is what Roberts always prided himself as representing through most of his career. Chaotic Evil represents the destruction of beauty. That is The Snake.

3 RICKY STEAMBOAT - LAWFUL GOOD

While Hulk Hogan might see himself as the Lawful Good, he would cheat and scheme to get his wins. He would hold people down when they tried to usurp him. Hogan was never Lawful Good. However, the perfect representation of Lawful Good is Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat.

Steamboat ended up as the NWA world champion because he never got the shot in WWE. Even when other faces were turning evil to force Hogan to put his title on the line, Steamboat never turned his back on his fans. He fought only for good, followed all the rules, and stood above all morally in WWE.

2 SHAWN MICHAELS - NEUTRAL EVIL

Shawn Michaels went from a plucky babyface tag team wrestler to a world champion who did everything he could to stay on top. Behind the scenes, Michaels was the leader of the Kliq and manipulated the wrestling scene to ensure he and his friends remained the top names in WWE.

In the ring, Michaels cheated to win, doing anything he could to come out on top. He had no problem betraying people and stabbed anyone in the back when the time was right. However, everything he did was to further his career, usually without honor, and rarely without walking over someone else.

1 UNDERTAKER - LAWFUL EVIL

If there is one wrestler in WWE history that represents evil, it is Undertaker. Interestingly, this is also someone who proves that some D&D character alignments can represent two distinctively different characters. Mr. McMahon is Lawful Evil, as he is the authority figure that uses it to further his agenda.

However, Undertaker is also considered Lawful Evil on the Dungeons & Dragons moral alignment charts. He is diabolical, as the true definition of lawful evil are devils. He possesses a sense of honor but combines it with his self-interest to create a zealot who will hurt anyone to force his code of conduct on the world.
