Drew McIntyre got past Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank to successfully retain his WWE Championship, and it sounds like their feud may already be over.

Rollins viciously attacked Rey Mysterio on this week's edition of Raw, which led to a backstage brawl between him, Murphy and Aleister Black. That suggests he won't be feuding with McIntyre again any time soon, but rather Mysterio and Black.

McIntyre, meanwhile, is slated to face SmackDown Live superstar King Corbin on next week's edition of Monday Night Raw (via the new crossover rule). But it doesn't sound like Corbin will be McIntyre's long-term opponent, either.

On Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Ringside News), Dave Meltzer suggested that at the next pay-per-view, Bobby Lashley will be McIntyre's challenger for the WWE Championship. Meltzer noted how WWE has "really put Lashley over strong," with Bryan Alvarez adding "they are absolutely going that direction."

Backlash was confirmed as the next WWE pay-per-view event, scheduled to take place on June 14 (location to be announced). If Meltzer's latest tidbit is true, that means WWE has a month to build up the McIntyre-Lashley clash.

Lashley is an excellent choice to feud with McIntyre next, given his strong heel status to go along with his supreme dominance in the ring. Since returning to WWE two years ago, Lashley has waited and waited for a main event push. It looks like it's finally coming now.

Plus, there aren't many other options for McIntyre right now. Brock Lesnar is on hiatus, and Kevin Owens is recovering from an ankle injury. Add it all up, and Lashley is the ideal candidate to challenge McIntyre for his title.

This Feud Should Be Fun

Both men display tremendous size, strength and athleticism in the ring, so Lashley-McIntyre shouldn't disappoint at all. The former is also a realistic candidate to take the title off of McIntyre, so there should be some thrilling moments here. We can't way to see what Lashley and McIntyre have to offer the WWE Universe.
