WWE may have finally started the ball rolling on Matt Hardy becoming Broken following his loss to Bray Wyatt on Raw this past Monday.
In April The Hardy Boyz treated the WWE Universe to arguably one of the biggest moments in pro wrestling so far this year when they shocked the world and returned at WrestleMania 33. Not only did they return but they won the Raw Tag Team Championships on their first night back with the company.
Since then however things have slowed a little for Matt and Jeff. Naturally they lost the championships a little while after and things went from bad to worse when Jeff was injured and is now sidelined for a number of months. Meanwhile his brother has been going it alone without having much success in finding himself a real meaning or a purpose on Raw right now.
That may have all changed on Monday night however. Hardy had a match against Bray Wyatt after interrupting one of The Eater of World's signature nonsensical promos. Matt didn't have much luck and eventually lost out to Wyatt after suffering a Sister Abigial. Doesn't sound too promising and a little too much like more of the same right? Well that's where you're wrong because what happened after the match was very interesting indeed.

Following the bout Bray Wyatt made his way out of the ring and back to the locker room. Matt on the other hand sat in the corner looking dejected and quite frankly, a little confused. The veteran then began to yell 'delete' while making the signature hand gesture that made his Broken gimmick so famous outside of WWE. That alone probably wasn't enough to confirm that WWE are bout to welcome the Broken Universe to their own programming, but what Michael Cole said was. The announcer asked 'are we witnessing the beginning of a Matt Hardy break down?'.
The WWE Universe has been waiting for WWE to embrace the Broken Universe but litigation and other problems have prevented that. Just as everyone had pretty much given up hope of ever seeing it under Vince McMahon's watchful eye it looks like we may see it after all, and who better to kick it off against than The Eater of Worlds, Bray Wyatt?
