Dixie Carter Reacts To Rockstar Spud's WWE Debut

During Tuesday night's 205 Live show, former Impact Wrestling star Rockstar Spud made his first appearance for WWE as the new 205 Live general manager, under the new name of Drake Maverick.

Former Impact executive and minority owner Dixie Carter, went on Twitter to comment on Rockstar Spud's debut.

Carter herself made an appearance on the WWE Network series WWE 24 in the episode Kurt Angle: Homecoming just last year. Maverick served as her "Chief of Staff" when the both of them were with Impact.

During Tuesday night's show, SmackDown Live general manager Daniel Bryan ended up announcing the arrival of Drake Maverick, who is now the first ever GM for 205 Live.

With a new general manager in place, it looks like WWE is looking to revitalize 205 Live, which has been lacking quite a bit in excitement recently. During his first WWE appearance, Drake Maverick announced that the Cruiserweight championship will be up for grabs in a sixteen man, single elimination tournament. The finals will go down at WrestleMania 34.

The first two matches of the tournament were aired on Tuesday night, which featured former WWE United Kingdom champion Tyler Bate losing to the first ever Cruiserweight champion, TJP. Cedric Alexander also ended up defeating Gran Metalik.

Prior to Maverick getting the job, numerous big names were rumored as a possible GM 205 Live that included Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Dean Malenko, and Vickie Guerrero.

It sounds like Maverick has achieved his goal of working for WWE.

Woken Matt Hardy took some time out of his busy schedule to welcome Maverick to WWE.

Drake Maverick was just released by Impact this past October after asking for his release. He started his wrestling career in 2001 and has worked for companies like Frontier Wrestling Alliance, International Pro Wrestling, X Wrestling Alliance, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and One Pro Wrestling. During his time with TNA/Impact, Maverick won the X Division Championship twice.
