Dolph Ziggler hasn't held back in voicing his disappointment and frustrations over the years in WWE, and it's unknown how much longer he'll go for in the ring.

Ziggler was away from WWE for several months as he began to focus more on a stand-up career outside of the ring. The Showoff has since gone through plenty of quick feuds over the last few months, even clashing with Hall of Famer Goldberg at the SummerSlam pay-per-view.

But as most could have predicted, Ziggler became the next victim of a Goldberg squash job, losing to him in just 1:50. And in an interview with Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT (h/t Ringside News), Ziggler admitted that he wasn't interested in this match against Goldberg - and he even threatened to leave WWE.

"I find out what the business is and I’m like ‘Cool this is the moment.’ And having that like ‘You’re the guy to do this. To set the record straight and give this guy this fantastic match. I’m like, ‘Fantastic.'”

"Then they go, ‘it’s gonna be bell spear’ and I go ‘Come on.’ So I fought all day long, threatened to leave, threatened to leave. Do anything I can do — ‘Give me two damn minutes!’ And I got a minute, whatever, what are you gonna do?'"

One month after their SummerSlam showdown, a video of Goldberg and Ziggler getting into a heated confrontation in Vegas showed up on the former's Instagram page. Ziggler took to Twitter and went on rant against the WWE legend.

Fans wondered if this would lead to another match between the two superstars, but it never came to fruition. Goldberg hasn't wrestled since SummerSlam, while Ziggler teamed up with Bobby Roode. The two even won the Raw Tag Team Championships before losing them to the Viking Raiders a month later.

It remains to be seen how much longer we'll see Ziggler in the WWE. But the fact he's already been vocal about his frustrations, coupled with his new stand-up career, suggest that Ziggler's time as a full-time wrestler could be ending sooner rather than later.

Ziggler's Frustrations Are Easy To Understand

It's safe to say that WWE never fully maximized the potential of Ziggler. Despite world-class in-ring skills and strong microphone work, Ziggler has had to spend the bulk of his career as a mid-card talent, and using him to get squashed by Goldberg was unnecessary. But at the end of the day, Ziggler has been a team player and always does what WWE asks of him, and he deserves credit for that.
