This week we will discover who will be the first ever General Manger of 205 Live. One thing the cruiserweight division needs is some stability and hopefully the introduction of an authority figure will help bring that to the show. Daniel Bryan made the announcement at the start of 205 Live last week and there has been speculation as to who the lucky person could be ever since.
There are any number of names who could be tasked with taking up the newly created role. Up until now the brand has just sort of worked without a leader. Kurt Angle chips in on Raw every now and again but on Tuesday nights they are left to their own devices. Well no longer.
Drew Gulak is currently one of the most underrated stars on 205 Live. More of the cruiserweights need personas and characters and should take note from what Gulak is doing right now. In keeping with his character Gulak has been making some suggestions on Twitter as to who he thinks should be the show's first General Manager. In fact over the weekend he made no fewer than 12 suggestions.
The suggestions from Gulak were from a variety of different worlds. They included Bill Gates, Billy Kidman, Oprah Winfrey, and even the Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. Something tells us that The Beast Incarnate has very little interest in what the cruiserweights are doing. In fact we would be surprised to find out that Lesnar knows 205 Live even exists. Kidman replied though telling Gulak that if he were to ever appear on 205 Live it would be in the ring and not as the show's GM.
I appreciate the consideration Drew. But since I am feeling inspired after that incredible #NXTTakeOver, IF you ever see me on #205Live it wouldn’t be the GM position I’m after....it would be the @WWE #Cruiserweight Title. https://t.co/opRjYRdNrB— Billy Kidman (@WWEKidman) January 28, 2018
Despite all of Gulak's research and suggestions it's unlikely that any of his 12 nominees will be the person to fill the role at some point this week. In fact it's more likely that Captain Underpants himself will become the first GM of the cruiserweight division. Perhaps his incessant suggestions over the weekend were a way of throwing us off the scent. Time will tell as the General Manager will presumably be announced either tomorrow on 205 Live or tonight on Raw.
