WWE seemed to please a lot of fans when they chose one of the favorites to win this year's Royal Rumble. And, how they got there was unprecedented.

Brock Lesnar declared that no one could compete with him and that he'd walk through 29 other men before winning the 2020 Royal Rumble. And, it looked like he was going to make good on his promise. Starting with Elias, then mowing through the field one-by-one, he eliminated 13 WWE Superstars before finally being eliminated himself.

It was a low blow and a Claymore Kick that finally ended up being Lesnar's undoing. The man who eliminated him, then went on to win the Royal Rumble match and will headline WrestleMania 36, likely taking on Lesnar for the WWE Championship.

This year's Rumble match was a story of two halves. First, it was the Lesnar show. It was historic, and that made it cool. At the same time, it buried a lot of WWE Superstars which caught the ire of many in the WWE Universe. Many were concerned Lesnar might actually work his way through the entire field until McIntyre eliminated him which went over huge with the live crowd.

From there, the second half featured a ton of tremendous action, including the return of Edge and a set up by WWE to ensure the crowd was behind the eventual winner.

McIntyre Is The Right Guy At The Right Time

WWE needs to build new stars and many believe Drew McIntyre is the type of competitor the company can build around. He's got the look, the skill set and fans are clearly behind him, mostly because he's not been shoved down their throats.

When he won the match, fans went bonkers which must feel good for WWE that they've made the right decision. It will now be a matter of who McIntyre challenges, which will probably find out on Monday's Raw. It's likely also a formality at this point.
