Drew McIntyre returned to the ring 20 minutes after beating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania and defended his title against Big Show.

Two nights of WrestleMania came to an end with a WWE Championship match between Drew McIntyre and Brock Lesnar. A moment and a match McIntyre has been waiting for and working toward for the past decade. The Scot probably would have preferred that match take place in front of 90,000 fans, but at the end of the night, he was still holding the WWE Title in his hands.

In typical fashion for the night after WrestleMania, fans might have been expecting McIntyre to open the show. He didn't. In fact, the new WWE Champion technically wasn't on the Raw after WrestleMania at all. Instead, announcers sold the fact that at the end of the show, WWE would air shocking footage of what happened immediately after the second night of WrestleMania went off the air.

McIntyre returned to the ring 20 minutes after his historic win over Lesnar for an interview. However, that interview was interrupted by a Superstar fans won't have seen for a couple of months. Big Show. Show was dragging a referee to the ring along with him (literally) so clearly intended on challenging McIntyre. The veteran issued the challenge, but McIntyre was reluctant to accept.

McIntyre told Show there was nothing he could say to make him give him a match, so the World's Largest Athlete reacted by slapping him across the face. That was enough to goad McIntyre into a match and with that, his first WWE Title defense was underway. The match went a lot longer than the one the night before, or 20 minutes earlier, in which McIntyre won the title from Lesnar.

There were a few moments where it seemed as if Show might actually beat McIntyre, but that potentially shocking moment did not happen. An exhausted WWE Champion slayed the giant and made it two wins in the space of half an hour. Interestingly, Show also referenced McIntyre defending the title at Money in the Bank. Further proof that WWE intends on going ahead with the PPV which is slated for May 10, 2020.
