Ethan Carter III first signed with WWE back in 2009 and wrestled with Florida Championship Wrestling before heading over to NXT after WWE essentially turned FCW into NXT.

During his time with FCW, EC3 won the Florida Championship Wrestling tag-team title with Johnny Curtis.

EC3 left NXT in 2013 and continued his career on the independent circuit as well as with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling/Impact Wrestling. He managed to win the Impact Grand Championship once and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship twice during his time with the company.

Then, this past January, EC3 decided to sign with NXT and make a comeback after five years away from the company.

During an interview with Byron Saxton of WWE.com, EC3 explained how things have changed since he left five years ago.

"Upon my return at NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia, I came to the realization that, after all these years, I know who I am, and there is victory in that," said EC3. "I have been through professional and personal hells. In the past, I was misguided. I was happy I got to live my dream as my profession and be one of the boys. Enjoy time with friends and family, fall in love and show up every day with a smile on my face and a good attitude. I was satisfied with just working really hard, and if it’s not my time, well, we’ll get them next time! I was optimistic and lost. Now I take everything personally. This is a ruthless world, and one must be ruthless to cope with it. I do not have a dream; I have a vision. I do not seek happiness. I seek success. The only comfort I get in life is victory, after victory, after victory."

With EC3 only being 26 years-old when he signed with WWE back in 2009, I'm sure he was maturing in numerous ways that every person in their mid-20s is, as he searched for who he was. There are even people who are in their 50s who don't know who they are, so this is very understandable.

It now sounds like EC3 is ready to take NXT by storm during his second time around and I'm sure we'll only see greatness from him going forward.

In his interview, EC3 was also asked if there are any wrestlers that he can't wait to face off against down the road and he had a very interesting answer.

"Yes. I want to vanquish John Cena at WrestleMania," he said.

Talk about lofty goals.

When it comes to his current goals, EC3 wants to win the NXT Championship, which is something I believe he'll accomplish at some point.

With EC3 now back in the fold, he'll finally make his in-ring debut during next week's show as he will wrestle against Raul Mendoza, according to Wrestle Zone.

With EC3 knowing who he is now and being more confident in himself as well as being more mature, it's completely up to him whether or not his dream of making it to the main roster ever comes true.
