A serious neck injury forced Edge to retire from the WWE in 2011, but a rumor recently surfaced that the company is talking about bringing him back in the ring.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that WWE was holding discussions about having Edge wrestle again. It was noted that after he considered "both sides," the Rated-R Superstar received "a significant offer," to remain with WWE.

But the WWE Hall of Famer quickly took to Twitter after the report surfaced. He tweeted the following, and many are simply interpreting it as a kind way of saying that Edge isn't wrestling again.

Assuming he's referring to the report from the Observer, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Edge is denying this. The report noted that it hadn't been "confirmed" if Edge would wrestle again, and that it's not clear if he'd be given the green light to wrestle again anyway.

Interestingly, it was also reported by the Observer that another Hall of Famer in 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin could come out of retirement. They detailed how he's still in strong shape, and considering that Goldberg apparently made $2 million to wrestle at Super ShowDown, maybe WWE would give Austin an offer he couldn't refuse to do one more match.

Like Edge, Austin had to retire early due to a neck injury. Both were warned by doctors that if they continued to wrestle, they'd be risking paralysis and possibly even death. So if either were to return to the ring, WWE would have to carefully plan a match where Edge and/or Austin would take as few bumps as possible.

Edge Will Prioritize Health First

Even if Edge really wanted to come back in the ring, nobody can blame him for prioritizing his long-term health first. You can never say never, as Daniel Bryan was cleared to return just two years after doctors advised him to retire. But unless Edge is told that he's fully cleared to wrestle again, it's hard to envision him opting for another match.
