Before Edge was the Rated-R Superstar, he was finding his footing on the main roster. His first 10 matches on PPV were a mixed batch of brilliance and dreadful.

Edge is one of the most decorated WWE wrestlers of all time. His resume speaks for itself as an 11-time World Champion, a five-time Intercontinental Champion, a 14-time Tag Team Champion, amongst other impressive accolades in his WWE Hall of Fame career.

However, Edge's first 10 PPV matches were a glimpse of how good Edge was going to be. He established a successful partnership with his best friend Christian and their legendary rivalry with The Hardy Boyz started during this run. Edge, Christian, and Gangrel started The Brood which was one of the most over factions in the Attitude Era. Nonetheless, Edge equipped himself exceptionally well and had a mixture of singles and tag team battles.

10 Edge Vs. Tiger Ali Singh (Capital Carnage 1998)

Edge v Singh

Tiger Ali Singh cut a scathing promo before his upcoming match with Edge at Capital Carnage 1998 emanating across the pond in London, England. Singh's promo received a chorus of boos from the fans, but Edge made his way through the crowd and attacked Singh.

This was a forgettable match that won't be shown on any of Edge's highlight reels in the future. Surprisingly, the clash lasted just under three minutes with Singh capitalizing on Edge's error by missing the Missile Dropkick and pinning him by putting his feet on the ropes for leverage.

9 Edge & Sable Vs. Marc Mero & Jacqueline (SummerSlam 1998)

SummerSlam 1998

SummerSlam 1998 just wasn't Edge's debut at the Biggest Party of the Summer, it was also his first match on a WWE PPV. Sable was feuding with Marc Mero and his new beau Jacqueline but she revealed Edge to be her tag team partner in a mixed tag team match.

However, Edge wasn't featured predominantly in this feud but he had a big impact on the match. His explosive style captivated audiences which made this below-par encounter bearable. Ultimately, Edge and Sable picked up the victory with Sable covering Mero for the win.

8 Edge & Christian Vs. The Hardy Boyz (King Of The Ring 1999)

KOTR 99

King of the Ring 1999 was the first pay-per-view that Edge and Christian collided with The Hardy Boyz. The two teams battled on Sunday Night Heat, but there was no definitive winner, considering that the reigning WWF Tag Team Champions The Acolytes interfered and put a stop to proceedings.

The pace of their match at the KOTR PPV was blistering. The Hardys were going for their patented Poetry in Motion, but Edge expertly countered it by spearing Hardy which got a huge pop. Nevertheless, The Hardys regrouped with Gangrel accidentally spitting his trademark blood into Edge's face with Jeff taking advantage by planting Edge with a Twist of Fate, thus becoming the number one contender's for the Tag Team Titles.

7 Royal Rumble Match (Royal Rumble 1999)

Rumble 1999

Edge is a two-time Royal Rumble winner in 2010 and 2021 but his first appearance in the manic Royal Rumble match came in 1999. Entering fifth, Edge immediately removed the WWF Light Heavyweight Champion Gillberg from the equation.

Moreover, Edge scratched and clawed his way through the chaos of the Royal Rumble match, ensuring that his stay was not short-lived. He gave a good account of himself, with Edge lasting a respectable 12 minutes before Road Dogg tossed him over the top rope.

6 The Brood Vs. Bradshaw, Faarooq & Viscera (No Mercy UK 1999)

Brood v Ministry No Mercy UK 1999

Edge, Christian, and Gangrel's loyalty to each other was more important than being a part of The Ministry of Darkness. Christian was put in the debilitating Ankle Lock by Ken Shamrock which forced Christian to reveal that Stephanie McMahon was in the boiler room. However, The Undertaker forced Edge and Gangrel to dish out punishment on Christian, but they refused and attacked The Ministry and defected from the group.

Nevertheless, by the time of the first No Mercy event in May 1999, The Ministry had merged with The Corporation, forming The Corporate Ministry. The Brood squared off with Bradshaw, Faarooq, and Viscera in a six-man tag team match. Alas, European Champion Shane McMahon sent Mideon to the ring who planted Gangrel with a DDT. Bradshaw picked up the pieces and clocked Gangrel with a Clothesline From Hell for the win.

5 The Brood Vs. J.O.B. Squad (Rock Bottom: In Your House, 1998)

RB 1998

The Brood teamed up on PPV for the first time at Rock Bottom: In Your House. They took on Al Snow, Bob Holly Holly, and Scorpio who were representing The J.O.B. Squad. The brief feud came about as Gillberg upset Christian to become the new Light Heavyweight Champion.

All six men had an enthralling contest which gets lost in the shuffle of brilliant six-man tag team matches. Both teams had a lot of offense, but Christian got revenge by planting Scorpio with an Unprettier to pick up a confidence-boosting win for The Brood.

4 The Brood Vs. Bradshaw, Faarooq & Mideon (Backlash 1999)

Backlash 1999

Backlash 1999 saw Edge, Christian, and Gangrel of The Brood colliding with their former stablemates Bradshaw, Faarooq, and Mideon who were representing The Ministry of Darkness in a high-profile six-man tag team match. The Ministry was determined to not let down their leader The Undertaker who does not accept failure.

Both teams have tremendous in-ring chemistry with each other and fans were hugely invested in this opening contest. However, Viscera ran down to ringside and squashed Christian from behind. Bradshaw, quite the opportunist, smashed Christian with a devastating Clothesline From Hell to pick up the win in this hard-hitting encounter.

3 Edge Vs. Owen Hart (Breakdown: In Your House, 1998)

Edge v Owen Hart

Breakdown: In Your House was Edge's first singles match on PPV and he took on none other than the legendary Owen Hart. It was a huge honor of Edge to face his fellow Canadian and the two locked horns in their home country of Canada at the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario.

Edge once again proved that he could hang with the big boys and he dominated the early exchanges of this outstanding contest. Hart represented The Nation, and he executed the Sharpshooter on Edge who managed to escape. However, Christian debuted and made his presence felt at ringside, but Edge took his eye off the ball which proved to be a costly mistake with Owen rolling up Edge for the win.

2 Edge Vs. Jeff Jarrett (Fully Loaded 1999)

Edge v Jarrett

Jeff Jarrett was due to defend the Intercontinental Championship against Ken Shamrock on a House Show in Toronto in July 1999, but Shamrock failed to show up due to travel issues. However, Edge was available and he seized on the opportunity by upsetting Jarrett to capture the prestigious Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his career.

The future Rated-R Superstar and Double J collided in a title rematch in the opening bout at Fully Loaded. This is one of the most underrated Intercontinental Championship matches with Edge stepping up to the plate with someone as good as Jarrett. Alas, Gangrel's attempt at a bloodbath failed with Edge moving out of the way. Unfortunately, Edge's Intercontinental Title reign lasted just one day with Jarrett reclaiming the title due to outside interference from Debra and Gangrel.

1 Tag Team Turmoil (SummerSlam 1999)

Tag Team Turmoil

SummerSlam 1999 was a huge opportunity for Edge and Christian to get a WWF Tag Team Championship title shot, considering that the winner of the Tag Team Turmoil would face the reigning Tag Team Champions.

This is by far Edge's best match in his first outings on WWE PPV, as he and Christian shone in this Tag Team Turmoil. Edge and Christian kicked off proceedings with The Hardy Boyz, and Edge ran on the barricade and speared Jeff onto the floor. Furthermore, they eliminated The Hardyz, Viscera and Mideon, and Albert and Droz. Ultimately, Edge and Christian ran into The Acolytes who proved to be too strong with Bradshaw clocking Christian with a Clothesline From Hell for the win.
