Edge has revealed that he will be stepping away from E&C's Pod Of Awesomeness due to family reasons.

The wrestling podcast world has blown up in a major way over the past decade. There are quite literally more wrestling podcasts than fans have the time to listen to. That means we are forced to pick and choose which ones make our own personal cut. Chances are the likes of Stone Cold, Chris Jericho, and anything Conrad Thompson has lent his name to will be on most lists.

We'd also hazard to guess that E&C's Pod Of Awesomeness is a much-listened to wrestling podcast too. Edge and Christian have basically been inseparable since childhood, so it made sense for them to host a podcast together too. We thoroughly enjoy the format, and they have managed to snag some pretty big guests. John Cena for one, who we can't recall ever being on another wrestling podcast.

Things are about to change for the Pod Of Awesomeness, though. If you haven't listened to this week's offering yet, during the podcast, Edge reveals that he is stepping away from the show due to family reasons. Christian elaborates a little, discussing Beth Phoenix's role with NXT meaning she is away from home a lot more often.

"It just ended up being one of those deals where it’s kind of hard to navigate for me right now," Edge explained on what will be his final appearance on the podcast. So what happens now? Well, it sounds as if Christian plans to carry on with the podcast alone. We're assuming that will be a name change, and perhaps even a new co-host. Zack Ryder has stepped in for Edge in the past.

Although the wrestling podcast world is oversaturated right now, we hope Christian doesn't decide to give up on the show. As we wrote above, we have thoroughly enjoyed the Pod of Awesomeness and although it won't be the same without Edge, we're sure a reimagined vision with Christian at the helm will be just as good.
