The Rated-R Superstar, Edge, is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. A multi-time champion who wrestled in the tag team division, the mid-card, and the main event scene which allowed him to work against a whole range of wrestlers throughout that process.

However, while his feuds with the likes of The Undertaker, John Cena, and The Hardy Boyz are the stuff of legend, there are a few matches from his career that just slipped through the cracks. There are wrestlers that he competed against that a lot of fans either have totally forgotten about or never even knew happened in the first place.

10 Daniel Bryan (Raw, 09/20/2010)

Daniel Bryan

When Edge returned to WWE in 2020, Daniel Bryan was immediately one of the first people fans spoke about in-terms of possible dream matches for him. Two of the very best going one-on-one seemed like a real WrestleMania worthy match.

However, this has actually already happened once. Granted, the match only lasted for four minutes and ended via a DQ, but the match has technically happened. Of course, fans are still desperate to see them have a real storyline or PPV quality match, and hopefully, that's in the pipeline sometime in the future.

9 Mike Knox (No Way Out, 2009)

Mike Knox

Mike Knox's very brief run in the main event scene of WWE shows why this sudden push didn't work. However, he did get to compete inside the Elimination Chamber at No Way Out in 2009, battling for the World Heavyweight Championship.

That match just so happened to be won by The Rated-R Superstar himself, Edge. John Cena walked into the steel structure as champion, but it was Edge who left with the title.

8 Ricky Steamboat (Raw, 4/6/2009)

Ricky Steamboat

When fans think about Ricky Steamboat's final run in WWE at WrestleMania 25, they think of the legends match and then his PPV bout against Chris Jericho at Backlash. However, he did also work a 10-man tag team match on the post-WrestleMania Raw as well.

Steamboat was part of a babyface team compromising of John Cena, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, and CM Punk. Meanwhile, on the other side was Edge, who was partnered with Kane, Jericho, Matt Hardy, and Big Show.

7 Meat (Sunday Night Heat, 7/27/1999)

Meat

Meat is a character that WWE fans often put to the back of their minds, and with good reason. It was a ridiculous gimmick with an absolutely terrible name, and that could be why most have forgotten Edge once competed against him.

The two men competed on Sunday Night Heat, which was a very popular show at the time, and it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that it was Edge who got the win here.

6 Vader (Sunday Night Heat, 9/29/1998)

Vader in WWE

Vader is one of the greatest big men in the history of professional wrestling, and his match with Edge is one that is hidden away on an episode of Sunday Night Heat that most people aren't aware of.

Unfortunately, it's not some sort of hidden classic between two legends of the industry. Their match was only just over three minutes long, with Edge picking up a fairly routine victory. This would also end up being Vader's final match from the Attitude Era.

5 Kofi Kingston (WWE Superstars, 4/20/2009)

Kofi Kingston

Nowadays a match between Kofi Kingston and Edge taking place on WWE Superstars seems insane, but that is what happened in 2009. This was only the second time the two men ever worked against each other in their careers.

Considering that Kofi Kingston was an ever-present competitor during a lot of Edge's main event run, it is very surprising that they didn't actually compete against each other far more frequently.

4 Owen Hart (In Your House 24: Breakdown, 1998)

Owen Hart

Owen Hart facing Edge seems like a true dream match that fans would still be talking about to this day. However, their match at In Your House: Breakdown is one that is often forgotten about, mainly because Edge was still very much developing at this point in his career.

Had the two men competed in their primes, it would no doubt have been an unbelievable match as these two Canadian talents are two of the very best to lace up a pair of boots.

3 Kung Fu Naki (SmackDown, 11/25/2008)

Funaki in the ring

At this point in his career, Edge had established himself as a top tier main event star. Therefore, a match against Kung Fu Naki is one that proved to be easy to forget. However, Edge did work against SmackDown's #1 commentator.

This was a brief squash match to put Edge over, and it made sense for Kung Fu Naki to be chosen, as he was someone who Edge could very easily defeat in a quick manner, which is what he did in just under two minutes.

2 Steve Austin (Raw, 1/15/2001)

Steve Austin

While Edge was on the roster when Steve Austin was at the peak of his powers, he hadn't reached the main event status he would go on to have. Because of that, their interactions were fairly limited in terms of in-ring work.

However, they did compete against each other once in a six-man tag team match on Monday Night Raw. Austin was joined by the APA and won the match as they defeated Edge and Christian, who was teaming with Austin's rival at the time, Kurt Angle.

1 Jerry Lawler (WWE House Show, 5/30/2010)

Jerry The King Lawler

Jerry Lawler was certainly not working at the peak of his powers in 2010 with his performance as a part-time wrestler. But he did get the chance to compete in a dream match against Edge.

While this was done at a house show, where only those in attendance were able to see, it was certainly a brilliant moment. The match took place in Memphis, Tennessee, which is the hometown of Lawler, hence why WWE gave him the opportunity.
