The career of Bray Wyatt has featured more ups and downs than the average wrestler due to his unique character. WWE is the only promotion to have spotlighted Wyatt making him a true homegrown product from FCW to the NXT game show to the NXT system. The polarizing reception to Bray sees fans either loving or hating his work.

A shift from the Wyatt Family to The Fiend would see him having the ability to reinvent himself, but that doesn’t mean things are always positive. WWE has been accused of weak booking that just makes the upper card talent look bad. Find out just which moments stand out for the worst when it comes to embarrassing Bray.

10 Hell In A Cell Match Vs Seth Rollins

The transition to The Fiend featured Bray Wyatt getting a lot of hype for the alter ego. Wyatt entered a feud with Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship just a few months into his new character debuting in a rushed angle.

The Hell in a Cell match featured the red lighting effect upsetting the fans watching at home and at the event. A horrible finish of the referee stopping the match when Wyatt refused to stay down from various weapon attacks caused fans to turn on them. Seth and Bray had an all-time bad PPV main event with an unhappy audience telling the story.

WWE tried to find success with the outlandish characters of Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy forming a tag team. The feud between the two caused Bray to turn face by embracing Broken Matt’s side as they won the Raw Tag Team Championship.

Unfortunately, their title reign accomplished little as they didn’t get much booking support. The title reign ended at the hands of primarily comedic enhancement duo Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. WWE pushing the B-Team ended a few weeks later as the tag titles ended up meaning nothing.

7 Brock Lesnar WrestleMania Feud Gets Dropped

The Wyatt Family attacks Brock Lesnar

The biggest embarrassment in wrestling can sometimes see plans changing rather than something terrible taking place. Brock Lesnar appeared bound to face Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 32 when the Wyatt Family cost him the Royal Rumble match and attacked the beast on Raw.

WWE randomly dropped the plans when Dean Ambrose would take part in a parking lot brawl with Lesnar. It is common knowledge that Brock has a lot of control in his WWE angles and the shift showed that WWE didn’t care enough for Wyatt to have a payoff in their already established program.

6 The Rock Mocking Him At WrestleMania 32

Bray Wyatt ended up not having a match at all at WrestleMania 32 with zero advertisements about his presence on the show once the Brock Lesnar program was dropped. Fans did see the Wyatt Family appear when interrupting a surprise appearance by The Rock.

The idea of working with Rock is great in theory, but WWE just needed someone for the legend to make fun of. Rock defeated Erick Rowan in under ten seconds, and John Cena returned to help him take down the rest of the members afterwards.

5 Roman Reigns Ending His Title Reign

However, the bigger story was Roman Reigns returning from his time off television as a heel. WWE ran a show the following week with all three wrestlers in a triple threat. Reigns showed up at the end of the match to easily steal the win. The more embarrassing part of this story was Bray never getting his rematch or a shot at revenge.

4 Husky Harris Failure In New Nexus

Husky Harris Nexus

The early chapter of Bray Wyatt’s career in WWE saw him playing the character of Husky Harris. WWE didn’t view Husky as a valued player when introducing him on the original concept of NXT. The move to the main roster came when CM Punk rebranded Nexus as the New Nexus.

Harris and Curtis Axel were the names added to the group, but there was nothing there. WWE made them look foolish as lackeys to completely sink any chance at success. Bray lucked out by getting sent back down to developmental where he came up with the Wyatt Family gimmick.

3 Making Him Sister Abigail

Bray Wyatt as Sister Abigail

The cryptic promos of Bray Wyatt led to fans wondering what other mysterious characters could come from this concept. Wyatt continued to reference a Sister Abigail person that led to expectations of a female wrestler getting a spot.

WWE never had a plan in mind for this when having a big reveal in 2017. Finn Balor’s feud with Bray led to him using the Demon King moniker in their matches. The Sister Abigail character was revealed as Wyatt with an embarrassing look trying to force it. Bray suffering an illness canceled the advertised match and WWE completely dropped the idea altogether to his luck.

2 WrestleMania 33 Title Loss

Bray Wyatt vs Randy Orton

The first WWE Championship win of Bray Wyatt felt like a big deal when winning it inside of the Elimination Chamber. Fans typically love when a new star gets their first reign, but WWE completely dropped the ball.

Randy Orton turned on Bray to set up their WrestleMania 33 match after months of working together. The match was a flop with a projection in the ring showing morbid images. Wyatt suffered most from the loss as his title reign ended within weeks with WWE sacrificing his momentum.

1 Goldberg Burying Him

Bray Wyatt vs Goldberg

WWE went all in on Bray Wyatt as The Fiend when having him beat Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship. Wyatt moved to Smackdown with the belt and seemed bound to have a big title reign coming his way following the failed WWE Championship run.

Goldberg entering the picture saw WWE falling into the trap of pushing a part-timer again. The unexpected program saw a shocking title change when Goldberg destroyed Bray in a few minutes to cause The Fiend’s first defeat.
