As reported yesterday, WWE superstar Enzo Amore missed this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, suffering an illness and admitting himself into a Miami hospital.
According to PWInsider.com, Amore “checked himself out'” of the hospital and arrived on Raw before the show started. He tried convincing officials that he was capable of competing (against Cedric Alexander in a Cruiserweight Championship match), but they refused and sent him back to his hotel.
A segment on the show saw Nia Jax about to leave the arena, before being stopped by Alexa Bliss. Jax claimed she was going to visit Amore in the hospital, and Bliss tried to force her “best friend” into staying. The Raw Women’s Champion told Jax to choose between “her” or “Amore,” and Jax left the arena. So continues their on-screen romance.
Amore isn’t the only superstar to come down with a virus. Braun Strowman left the remaining WWE Holiday Tour shows, coming down with the flu. However, he was present for Raw last night, defeating Rhyno in a singles match and refusing a partnership offer from Kane to take down Brock Lesnar.
Thankfully, both Amore and Strowman appear to be in fine shape to return to wrestling over the long haul. This won’t be a similar case to Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt’s, who missed several weeks in the fall after suffering the mumps virus.
Amore is in the midst of his his second Cruiserweight Championship reign, which has lasted for over 70 days. He’s done a fine job in singles competition, after his feud with Big Cass ended abruptly when the latter tore his ACL during a match in August.
The Bonafide Stud now holds the Cruiserweight title and has an on-screen girlfriend. Life’s not all that bad for a Superstar who’s had to endure some hardships, in storyline and outside of the ring.
