Ricochet and Ethan Page have been battling on Twitter after the former told the latter he needs to hit the gym a little more.

Social media has changed the world of pro wrestling in a number of ways. The main change has been how much of wrestlers' personal lives we now know about. Before the popularisation of the internet, we knew very little about wrestlers other than what we saw on TV and in the ring. That is no longer the case.

Wrestlers also have a habit of making their differences between each other very public. We are certainly not complaining as it makes for very entertaining reading. Sometimes it is just an extension of what they're doing in the ring, other times it is all too real. We would hazard to guess this latest example if probably the latter.

We'd guess that because this social media spat is between two stars who aren't even in the same company. NXT's Ricochet and Impact Wrestling's Ethan Page. The online altercation started when Ricochet replied to one of Page's tweets by telling him he should hit the gym more, a tweet that has since been deleted. While Ricochet might look better than Page, he isn't as good in the promo department.

That became clear as the argument continued. Page replied by telling the NXT North American Champion that he needs to try and cut a promo which doesn't sound like Bugs Bunny stuttering. Ricochet's reply to that has also since been deleted. The only response of his that remains at the time of typing this is the one where he has tried to cover his tracks, claiming he thought it was all just a joke between friends.

Page's response to that was also very apt. The Impact star pointed out that Ricochet would not tweet something like that to other stars who aren't necessarily in as good shape as he is, such as Bray Wyatt and Samoa Joe. Page definitely has a point there. Tweets like that would not sit well with WWE, and would also reflect poorly on someone who is supposed to be a babyface.
