There have been a total of nine First Blood Matches that took place in the WWE over the years, with the last one taking place in June 2008. The ultimate goal of a superstar is to bust his opponent open, and every match that took place is as brutal as the other, but still, let's take a look at the rankings for every First Blood match in WWE history.

9 9. X-Pac Vs. Chris Jericho - Raw, September 25, 2000

Chris Jericho has quite the experience when it comes to First Blood matches as he has been in this bout twice in his WWE career. This match took off immediately when Jericho ran down the stage and attacked X-Pac before he could even make his entrance.

After a series of back-and-forth action, X-Pac gained the upper hand after hitting Jericho with a glass bowl. The match ended after X-Pac took a piece of the broken glass bowl and used it to cut Jericho’s forehead open to pick up the win. But it was Jericho that had the last laugh as he made X-Pac bleed post-match and locked him in the Walls of Jericho on the announce table.

8 8. Chris Jericho Vs. Ken Shamrock - SmackDown, September 23, 1999

Chris Jericho entered into a small feud with Ken Shamrock in late 1999 with them going against each other in three matches, including one First Blood match. Jericho promised in a locker room interview that the fans wouldn't see blood in his face, and he lived up to the promise by coming out to the ring wearing a hockey mask dressed in the Buffalo Sabres gear.

Shamrock dominated the majority of the match tossing Jericho like a rag doll, but Curtis Hughes helped Jericho pick up the win by making Shamrock bleed from the mouth after hitting him with a huge splash to his ribs.

7 7. Mr. Kennedy Vs. The Undertaker - Survivor Series, 2006

Remember the time when Teddy Long made everyone go one-on-one with da Undertaka? Well, that's how Mr. Kennedy ended up in a feud with the Deadman. After he & MVP got under the skin of the Brothers of Destruction, Mr. Kennedy had the unfortunate opportunity to face the Undertaker in a First Blood match at Survivor Series 2006.

Austin & Undertaker took each other to the limit, and the ending saw Austin hitting the Undertaker with a TV camera and busted him open to retain the title and stood tall after giving Vince McMahon a goodbye Stunner.

1 1. Kane Vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin - King Of The Ring 1998

The very first First Blood match in the WWE was for the WWE Championship with Stone Cold Steve Austin defending against Kane. The match took place at King of the Ring 1998, and it wasn’t a clean contest as Mankind tried to cost Austin the title. The Undertaker came out to make the save, and he hit Stone Cold with a steel chair by accident busting him open and costing him the WWE Championship.
