Although Vince McMahon has firmly established the group of current Superstars who are going to be presented at the forefront of Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live (Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles among others), it cannot be denied that Vinnie Mac is always looking to add onto his respective rosters to keep things fresh and interesting for fans - especially with former stars. The number of wrestlers who have come and gone from WWE is absolutely staggering, so it shouldn't be very hard to understand why the company is always able to pull off a surprise return at any given moment - tons of former stars are willing to return if the "price is right," so to speak.

In 2018, we witnessed the returns of fan-favorite stars including Bobby Lashley, Rey Mysterio, Batista, and most recently, "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view, and in 2019, we are bound to see a few surprise comebacks as well. However, while Vince McMahon is fairly open to many of his former talent returning, there's undoubtedly a plentiful number of former Superstars who've been "blackballed" or "blacklisted" from ever coming back to WWE (Vince can be quite the grudge holder as we've come to realize).

With that said, Triple H is definitely yapping in Vince's ear continuously in regards to allowing certain wrestlers to return even if McMahon doesn't view it as important or worthy, and there are a couple former "fan favorites" Hunter may be able to convince McMahon to bring back. Today, we will look at 15 fan-favorite wrestlers Vince will never bring back, and 5 that Triple H might convince him to.

20 Vince Will Never Bring Back: Enzo Amore

via sportskeeda.com

Enzo Amore certainly wouldn't fall under the category of "fan-favorites" outside WWE ring due to his controversial behavior and overall attitude, but within the company, Amore was one of the most over talents WWE had to offer. Whether alongside Big Cass or on his own in the 205 Live division, Enzo Amore definitely stood out from the rest of the pack and had a solid following.

However, Enzo Amore's involvement in that huge scandal last year has undoubtedly placed his name on Vince's "blackballed" list, because there's little chance McMahon would ever welcome Enzo back to WWE with open arms. Considering Triple H was never very fond of Amore anyways, don't expect "The Game" to be begging Vince to bring "The Certified G" back anytime soon, if ever at all.

19 Vince Will Never Bring Back: Scott Steiner

via sportbible.com

Scott Steiner's relationship with WWE has been strained for as long as we can remember, and it cannot be denied that there's distaste in "Big Poppa Pump's" mouth whenever he's asked about his feelings in regards to WWE, Triple H, and Vince McMahon. While Scott Steiner had the right look for the early 2000s, his underwhelming performances in the main event scene combined with his extremely poor attitude caused him to rub top officials the wrong way.

Scott was released from WWE within short order following his flopped feud against Triple H, and we haven't seen the Genetic Freak ever since.

Scott is currently on the bad side of both Vince and Hunter due to Steiner's constant rants and shoot interviews, so Scott is certainly not a "fan favorite" who will be returning to WWE...

18 Vince Will Never Bring Back: Carlito

via youtube.com

Without a doubt, Carlito could've amounted to far more in WWE had he stayed on the right path and not become complacent or lazy in Vince's eyes - the recipe for a burial as many of you are well aware. Carlito was an above average in-ring performer during his multi-year run with WWE, but following a brief push which saw him capture the United States and Intercontinental Championships, he was soon demoted into complete and utter irrelevancy.

The final straw was Carlito failing the Wellness Policy back in 2010, and after refusing to get the help he clearly needed, Vince wasted no time in releasing him. Though there has been speculation in the past that Carlito was rumored to potentially return to WWE, this hasn't happened, and it probably never will, considering Vince wants reliable Superstars.

17 Triple H Might Convince Him To: John Morrison

via twitter.com

When news hit the media outlets that John Morrison had been released from WWE in 2011, it was undoubtedly sad for fans. While Morrison had never been featured as consistent main event level talent, John definitely carved his own niche in the midcard alongside the Intercontinental Championship, and he ended up having a great run in WWE despite his lack of a substantial push.

John has stated in the past he left WWE due to his neck injury and for possibly having more creative freedom elsewhere, and by all means, Morrison has thoroughly succeeded in Lucha Underground.

Vince has always kept his eye on Morrison, and it can be guaranteed that it wouldn't take much convincing from Hunter for Vince to be open to John returning.

16 Vince Will Never Bring Back: Austin Aries

via uproxx.com

Had Austin Aries been easier to deal with behind the scenes and possessed a better attitude, it can be assured that Aries would've been positioned at the forefront of 205 Live and potentially on the main roster as well. However, Austin's unfortunate disposition ended up getting "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived" in the WWE doghouse, and it wasn't long before Vince ended up sending Austin packing.

Although Austin Aries had lots to offer the WWE roster due to his charismatic personality and in-ring talent, Vince certainly wasn't going to keep a wrestler with a negative attitude around under any circumstances. Without question, Vince won't be reaching out to Aries over a return in the near future (if ever), and by all means, the show has continued on just fine without Austin's presence.

15 Vince Will Never Bring Back: Mr Kennedy

via youtube.com

Mr. Kennedy is a case of a Superstar who had all the potential in the world to become a headlining talent in WWE, yet didn't due to backstage politics. Vince McMahon was very high on Kennedy following his debut in the mid-2000s, hence why he won the Money In The Bank briefcase.

However, backstage politics were at an all-time high during this time period, and unfortunately for Mr Kennedy, he ended up getting on the bad side of two of WWE's biggest and most influential Superstars - John Cena and Randy Orton. Cena and Orton proclaimed that Kennedy was unsafe and sloppy in the ring, and as you can imagine, Vince took the side of his two franchise talents and released Kennedy within short order.

It's doubtful Vince will ever bring Mr Kennedy back to WWE.

14 Vince Will Never Bring Back: Damien Sandow

via sportskeeda.com

The story of Damien Sandow in WWE is definitely a fairly sad one because. At one point, Sandow was primed to become a focal point in the company. With a Money In The Bank briefcase by his side in 2013, it seemed as though Vince was going to make Damien a World Champion. However, we all know how that turned out.

Once Sandow was rid of his MITB contract, Damien was never again presented as a "big deal," and it wasn't long before the super-charismatic Superstar was thrust into comedic gimmicks in the low mid-card. Since his release, Damien Sandow has done little to reinvigorate his wrestling career, and he has now put most of his time and energy into a potential acting career, thus leaving little reason for Vince to ever bring the former Intellectual Savior back.

13 Triple H Might Convince Him To: AJ Lee

via wwe.com

Before the "Women's Revolution" ever came to fruition in WWE, it cannot be denied that AJ Lee was running the Divas Division - a time period where women were presented as afterthoughts compared to their male co-workers. AJ had the right look, a great moveset, charisma, and most of all, a connection with the WWE Universe. It was certainly a sad day for fans when AJ Lee announced her departure from WWE in 2015.

However, while AJ Lee "retired" to focus on other career aspirations, Vince has remained open to her possible return.

Similar to John Morrison, it wouldn't take much convincing on Triple H's part for Vince to bring AJ back, because just prior to WWE's all-women's PPV Evolution, rumors were swirling around that McMahon reached out to her for a potential return.

12 Vince Will Never Bring Back: CM Punk

via lowkickmma.com

Unlike his wife AJ Lee, the chances of CM Punk ever being welcomed back to WWE with open arms are slim to none. Long since known for having a terrible relationship withWWE and upper management, CM Punk took his frustrations to the point where he ended up walking out on the company. Vince officially firing Punk on his wedding day certainly didn't help or ease the situation either.

None of the McMahons regard CM Punk in a positive way (including son-in-law Triple H), and considering he has absolutely flopped massively as an MMA star, it's doubtful WWE will be reaching out to Punk for a return anytime soon, if ever. Had Punk succeeded in the UFC, there's a slight chance (albeit slim) that McMahon would've given "The Cult Of Personality" a second chance.

11 Vince Will Never Bring Back: Neville

via pinterest.com

For much of the past year, Neville's name has constantly been in the wrestling news due to his uncertain status with WWE. This past August, Neville officially parted ways with the company following a lengthy period of time out of the ring yet still being under WWE contract.

Vince refused to give in and approve of Neville's early release.

Although McMahon has always had a soft spot for talent who stick up for themselves and try to prove their worth, Neville undoubtedly took things slightly too far given the fact he wasn't remotely considered to be a top tier star in Vince's eyes. Neville may be talented beyond belief, but considering Vince is known to hold a grudge or two, it's unlikely that Vince will ever bring Neville back to the company after the way "The King Of The Cruiserweights" held WWE and 205 Live up.

10 Vince Will Never Bring Back: James Ellsworth

via sescoops.com

James Ellsworth surpassed every expectation there was for him in WWE, and due to a great "squash match" against Braun Strowman which received praise from Vince McMahon, among other top-ranking officials, Ellsworth remained on WWE's payroll for far longer than anyone in the wrestling community could've possibly imagined. However, as some of you are bound to be aware of, wrestlers like James Ellsworth have a limited shelf life, and unfortunately, Ellsworth's shelf life has long since expired.

The days of James Ellsworth being a contracted full-time WWE Superstar are over now, and it's highly doubtful that McMahon will ever sign James to a full-time extended WWE deal again. However, it's clear that Vince has no problem bring Ellsworth back here and there for the occasional appearance, but considering fans expressed their disdain for James "hogging" the spotlight when he was full-time, those days are behind us now.

9 Triple H Might Convince Him To: Cody Rhodes

via ewrestling.com

Throughout his career in WWE, Cody Rhodes was a highly underrated and underutilized Superstar who could've just as easily been a main eventer as he was a perennial midcarder. For whatever reason, Vince McMahon never saw much potential in Cody as anything more than an Intercontinental Championship contender. Considering the fact Cody was the son of the legendary Dusty Rhodes and possessed undeniable talent and charisma, this continuous decision was puzzling for most fans.

Towards the end of his run, Cody reached rock bottom with his Stardust persona, and it wasn't long before he asked for his release. As many had expected, Cody Rhodes has had no trouble finding success elsewhere, and he's now undoubtedly one of the top Indie wrestlers in the world today. While Vince can be a grudge holder, Triple H definitely has interest in bringing Cody back, and he may be able to convince Vince to do the same.

8 Vince Will Never Bring Back: Ryback

via wwewrestlingnetwork.com

Ryback is one of those wrestlers who bought into their own hype slightly too much, to the point where it got them into trouble with WWE management. Ryback was pushed hard early on in his career, but due to lackluster creative decisions and a truly rushed push to the top, "The Big Guy" unfortunately had nowhere to go but down the card after receiving backlash from other top stars who complained about him being unsafe (insert: CM Punk).

However, Ryback would go onto improve tremendously over the course of his career in WWE, and towards his last year in the company, he was a solid big man wrestler. With that said, Ryback might've bought into his own hype a little too much, because he clearly believed he deserved to be positioned higher on the card than he was - Ryback simply went about things in the wrong way in Vince's eyes.

7 Vince Will Never Bring Back: Gail Kim

viasportingnews.com

Gail Kim was truly ahead of her time, and she is undoubtedly a pioneer in Women's wrestling (whether WWE want to admit it or not). Gail never received the treatment she felt she and other female performers deserved in WWE, and she decided to leave the company in hopes of finding greener pastures elsewhere. She was arguably one of the best women's wrestlers in the world during her run in Impact, but this truth certainly wouldn't be enough to convince Vince to bring the former Women's Champion back to WWE.

Kim has been extremely critical of WWE's supposed Women's Revolution, and she has stated that Stephanie McMahon could've been fighting for the companies women far sooner - Gail believes the WWE's Women's Revolution is nothing more than a business tactic. Regardless, this is far from being music to Vince's (or Stephanie's) ears, and it's doubtful we'll ever see Gail back in a WWE ring.

6 Vince Will Never Bring Back: Jack Swagger

via si.com

Among the Superstars who flopped the hardest as a WWE World Champion, Jack Swagger's name would unquestionably be at the forefront of that list. "The All American American" never really clicked with the WWE Universe despite his multiple pushes and championship reigns, and by the end of his career in WWE, Jack Swagger was positioned on the card comparable to the likes of Zack Ryder, The Colons, Bo Dallas, Fandango, Heath Slater and other low ranking talents - certainly not respectable for a supposed former World Champion.

The nail in Swagger's coffin was his outside-the-ring issues in 2013, because prior to that, Vince looked as though he was going to give Jack another chance in the main event.

Regardless, nothing has been lost since Swagger's release, and despite Jack's aspirations of becoming an MMA star, don't expect Vince to be reaching out to him anytime soon.

5 Triple H Might Convince Him To: Wade Barrett

via youtube.com

It cannot be denied that Wade Barrett was vastly underutilized in WWE despite his multiple Intercontinental Championship reigns, as many believed Barrett should've been featured as a prominent main event caliber Superstar. However, Vince McMahon clearly didn't buy into the Wade Barrett hype, and after losing his main event feud against Randy Orton during the good old Nexus days, Barrett was never again given that main event spotlight.

Nearing the end of his run in WWE, it was clear that Wade Barrett was frustrated over his position on the card and the way Vince had been booking him, so it's not all too surprising that Barrett eventually asked for his own release. For those unaware, Triple H was reportedly always a firm supporter of Wade Barrett, and by all means, Wade could definitely add something to the current Raw or SmackDown Live roster. Perhaps Triple H will be able to convince McMahon to bring Wade back.

4 Vince Will Never Bring Back: Evan Bourne

via myfantasysportstalk.com

Evan Bourne's behavior outside the squared circle, unfortunately, caused the extremely talented high flyer to get thrown into the WWE doghouse. Considering Vince has zero tolerance for anything related to controversial behavior (anything that could possibly reflect badly on WWE), McMahon made sure to release Evan following a lengthy absence from the ring.

Bourne was rarely utilized on television after he was slowed down by injuries and personal issues.

Regardless, Matt Sydal, as he's known outside the company, has continued his craft outside WWE, and he has been very successful in the promotions he's worked for including ROH, Dragon Gate, and PWG. Though Triple H may be open to bringing Matt back to WWE (possibly for 205 Live), there's little hope in changing Vince's opinion.

3 Vince Will Never Bring Back: Alberto Del Rio

via wwe.com

Alberto Del Rio may have aspirations to finish off his professional wrestling career in WWE, but due to his continuous controversial behavior, there's literally no chance of that ever happening. For much of the past year, Del Rio has proclaimed that he'd be returning to WWE, but up to this point, it's simply been hot air as some would say. Alberto simply doesn't fit WWE's PG Era mold, and with Alberto possibly returning would come a lot of baggage.

Alberto Del Rio may be a solid talent, but it's not as though he was a must-see WWE Superstar during his multiple runs in the company - in fact, Del Rio ranks among the worst WWE World Champions in history. Recently, Alberto made some unsavory and downright offensive remarks in regards to his ex-fiancee Paige, which were showcased all across the media, and Vince will take no chances in having Del Rio back amidst the roster.

2 Vince Will Never Bring Back: Rich Swann

via wrestlinginc.com

It's definitely unfortunate the way things panned out for Rich Swann's WWE career, because just as he was beginning to pick up steam on the 205 Live roster, controversy struck, and he was soon out of a job. While his absence has not affected WWE or 205 Live in any way, shape, or form (a replaceable talent), he could've undoubtedly added lots to the Cruiserweight Division.

Since departing WWE abruptly, Rich Swann has joined the Impact Wrestling roster with a multi-year deal, so it looks as though he will be doing fine, financially speaking. With that said, there's almost a zero percent chance Vince will ever bring Rich Swann back to WWE due to his purported actions from last year.

1 Triple H Might Convince Him To: Emma

via twitter.com

Among the recent WWE firings that caused the biggest uproar amidst the wrestling community, Emma's surprising release last year is arguably the biggest.

Although Emma had always been vastly underrated throughout her career, few fans ever expected WWE to fire her just 10 days following her pay-per-view match against the debuting Asuka. However, as we've come to realize, there were some issues between Emma and WWE writers, and things only worsened after she began voicing her displeasure via her Twitter account.

The whole Emmalina flopped shtick definitely annoyed Vince McMahon, as he believed Emma wasn't taking her newfound persona seriously enough.Regardless, Emma's a very talented women's wrestler, and her release was unwarranted. Among the key executives in WWE who'd like to re-sign Emma, Triple H is likely one of them, and it's highly probable that Hunter will try to sway Vince to bring her back in the near future.
