2019 was an incredible year for women's wrestling. Becky Lynch dominated the WWE as its primary babyface in a way that no other female Superstar has done during the company's history. A women's match occupied the main event of WrestleMania 35, with The Man defeating Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair on the Grandest Stage Of Them All to win the Raw and SmackDown Women's Championships.

2019 has been the year of The Man, but other women in the locker room should have their opportunity to grab the spotlight in 2020. A championship reign can elevate a Superstar to main event status and there are a plethora of female Superstars who are main event material... and some who may not be ready yet. Here are five women who should win a championship in 2020 and five who shouldn't.

10 Should: Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey had an impressive reign with the Raw Women's Championship in 2019. The Baddest Woman On The Planet won the title at SummerSlam and held it for an impressive 232 days before dropping it to Becky Lynch, who handed the former UFC star her first WWE loss.

Rousey still has unfinished business with Becky Lynch. The Man currently sits atop the women's division holding the belt she took from Rousey and it is only a matter of time before the two Superstars clash once more for the Raw Women's Championship.

9 Shouldn't: Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair is one of the most decorated Superstars in WWE history. She helped revolutionize women's wrestling while competing with the other Four Horsewomen in NXT and has won a record-breaking ten championships so far in her WWE career.

Charlotte doesn't need another title run any time soon. Her credibility is undeniable and she is one of the most talented Superstars in the WWE locker room. Another Superstar should have an opportunity to build her legacy.

8 Should: Asuka

Asuka Deonna Purrazzo

Asuka's booking in WWE has been questionable at times, but there is no denying that she is one of the company's most talented Superstars. Asuka currently holds the Women's Tag Team Championships with Kairi Sane, but the Empress of Tomorrow deserves another solo title reign in 2020.

Asuka and Becky Lynch are scheduled to face each other for the Raw Women's Championship at the Royal Rumble on January 26th. The Man could finally overcome the one opponent to have bested her so far, or Asuka's title reign could come sooner than we think.

7 Shouldn't: Lacey Evans

Lacey Evans makes her entrance

Lacey Evans fought against Becky Lynch for the Raw Women's Championship in an underwhelming feud in 2019. She is currently feuding with SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley after abruptly becoming a babyface and it seems as if WWE has big plans for the Sassy Southern Belle.

Evans needs more time to establish herself as a credible threat before she wins her first Women's Championship. Although she is a babyface, she is not popular enough to defeat Bayley for the title currently without fans turning on her.

6 Should: Shayna Baszler

Shayna Baszler dominated the women's division in NXT during 2019. She held the NXT Women's Championship for 416 days and is the only Superstar to capture the belt twice. At Survivor Series, the Submission Magician defeated Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch and SmackDown Women's Championship Bayley whilst representing the NXT brand.

Baszler lost the title to Rhea Ripley on the December 18th episode of NXT. 2020 should be the year she debuts on the main roster and continues her championship-winning ways.

5 Shouldn't: Liv Morgan

Remember when everybody thought Liv Morgan was going to return as a sidekick to Bray Wyatt's The Fiend? Instead, the former Riott Squad member returned in a bizarre angle that saw her crash Lana and Bobby Lashley's wedding, declaring her love for the Ravishing Russian.

The entire storyline is divisive amongst the WWE Universe. Some fans love it, others loathe it. Regardless, it doesn't need the Raw or SmackDown Women's Championship involved.

4 Should: Nikki Cross

Nikki Cross could be considered one of the breakout Superstars of 2019. After she was drafted to Raw during the 2019 WWE Superstar Shake-Up, Cross formed a tag team with fellow NXT alumni Alexa Bliss and they won the Women's Tag Team Championships on Raw in August.

The team of Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross works well, but Cross should have an opportunity to establish herself as a singles competitor in 2020. Defeating Bayley for the SmackDown Women's Championship is a viable option for her future.

3 Shouldn't: Lana

If Liv Morgan shouldn't win a championship in 2020 then neither should Lana. The Ravishing Russian is at the center of the storyline controversy, and her lack of experience as a singles competitor does little for her credibility as championship material.

There is nothing to suggest that Lana won't ever win the Women's Championship at some point in her WWE career. However, more time should be invested in her skills before she faces either Becky Lynch or Bayley for the title.

2 Should: Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks was red-hot upon returning to WWE after a four-month hiatus. The Boss debuted with blue hair and a bad attitude, taking the fight to Becky Lynch and facing The Man in a Hell in a Cell Match for the Raw Women's Championship in the titular pay-per-view.

The Boss' momentum has simmered since then. Her alignment with heel Bayley is entertaining but she deserves another reign with the championship in 2020 to maintain her credibility.

1 Shouldn't: Dana Brooke

Dana Brooke was drafted to SmackDown in 2019 and she has gradually established a larger role in the women's division. The former protege of Charlotte Flair fought alongside Lacey Evans against Sasha Banks and Bayley and Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross on the January 4th episode of SmackDown.

Brooke has potential but, like Evans, she needs time to organically get over with fans and build her credibility before she pursues championship gold. Bayley and Becky Lynch are at the top of their game and need worthy contenders to dethrone them.
