When it comes to the WWE Royal Rumble, there are always surprises, but when it comes to who is not going to win, it is easy to pick out those names as soon as the wrestler enters the ring. With the women, there have to be more surprises as the roster is not as big, and many women hardly get any TV time at all.

This next year is no different, with a lot of women on the roster, but very few of them taking part in any distinct storyline. Heading into the end of the year, Becky Lynch and Bayley are the two women champions, and the winner of the Royal Rumble will get a shot at the champion of their choice. Here is a look at five women who have a good chance in the WWE Royal Rumble and five who don't have a prayer.

10 GOOD CHANCE: ALEXA BLISS

Alexa Bliss just finished her stint as the women's tag team champion with Nikki Cross and seems to be ready to move on to whatever is next for her now. She has been messing with Bayley, the SmackDown women's champion, and seems to always be on the brink of something big.

The five-time women's champion just came back from injury, and while her tag team with Nikki Cross has been fun, it might be time to get her back into the title mix. As a babyface, the fans are loving Bliss, and she is a proven competitor who can turn in a great match with Bayley at WrestleMania.

9 NO CHANCE: NIKKI CROSS

While Alexa Bliss could be a great pick to win the WWE Royal Rumble, the same can't be said about her tag team partner Nikki Cross. Now, Cross is a ton of fun to watch in the ring, and she is someone the fans are all behind, but she is not a proven commodity.

As a matter of fact, Nikki Cross has taken the loss to the champions more than once and needs some work before she can move into the women's title scene. Sure, a Royal Rumble win would be a feel-good moment for Cross, but a WrestleMania title shot isn't something anyone would believe in right now.

8 GOOD CHANCE: ASUKA

What has happened to Asuka? At one time, she was one of the most dominant females in WWE. She was undefeated and held a streak longer than even Bill Goldberg's kayfabe streak in WCW. She came to the main roster and kept winning. Then Charlotte beat her at WrestleMania, and Asuka lost her magic.

She has become a great tag team champion, and it is fun to see her blowing the green mist as a heel. However, Asuka seems to have to cheat to win now, and that is discouraging. A Royal Rumble win and a victory at WrestleMania could resurrect her career as a single's star if only WWE considered it.

7 NO CHANCE: KAIRI SANE

It seems crazy to look at last year and remember than Kairi Sane was voted the best overall wrestler in WWE NXT — male or female. She was the most popular wrestler on the roster and was complete fire every time she stepped into the ring. She is now one-half of the tag champs — as a heel.

No one could have seen this coming last year. While Asuka could be a great candidate to win the Royal Rumble, Sane needs a lot of work as a singles star before she hits that point. Yes, she has picked up some pinfall wins over champs and former champs, but she needs to be established as a singles star for the main roster fans before she gets a title shot.

6 GOOD CHANCE: LACEY EVANS

It wasn't that long ago that Lacey Evans was the sassy southern belle, a heel who taunted her opponents. The fans hated her, and she clearly needed more time to develop in the ring. However, something happened when Evans turned into a babyface.

It made no sense at all to see the babyface turn, but she has lit fire since turning to the good side. She is still arrogant and conceited, but she is now targeting heels — specifically SmackDown champion Bayley. Now, if Evans gets a Royal Rumble title shot, this won't happen, but if they play the long game, Evans winning and challenging Bayley could be great.

5 NO CHANCE: CARMELLA

Carmella has shocked people before. Remember, this is a woman that won the Money in the Bank, albeit with a little help from James Elsworth. Since then, Carmella became a fan favorite thanks to her association with R-Truth and assistance with his 24/7 title.

When the last WWE Draft took place, Carmella was split up from R-Truth and is working on kickstarting her singles career on SmackDown again. However, don't expect her to win the Royal Rumble. It would be too out-of-left-field, as she has done nothing recently.

4 GOOD CHANCE: SHAYNA BASZLER

The biggest surprise entrant into the 2020 WWE Royal Rumble would be NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler. Now, it would make little sense if Triple H's claims that NXT is the same level as Raw and SmackDown now since she is already a champion.

However, Baszler won the three-way at the Survivor Series over Bayley and Becky Lynch and might want to step up and prove herself on the biggest stage of them all. Imagine Baszler winning the Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant and then challenging Becky Lynch for WrestleMania.

3 NO CHANCE: DANA BROOKE

WWE really wants you to pay attention to Dana Brooke. Sadly, WWE wants you to think she is important because she is going on a date with Batista. When a woman in WWE is held up because of her relationship with a man, that is never a good thing.

No matter what happens with Dana Brooke and Batista, and no matter how much WWE plays this up on television, Brooke will never be a women's champion unless they entirely run out of contenders. A Dana Brooke win in the Royal Rumble would fail in the eyes of most fans, and WWE knows it.

2 GOOD CHANCE: CHARLOTTE FLAIR

Charlotte Flair has been out of the title scene for a long time. However, look closely at the feud between the women's tag champs, Asuka and Kairi Sane, and Charlotte and Becky Lynch. Neither Becky nor Charlotte like each other, and the women do not want to team together.

There is an excellent chance that after their feud with Asuka and Sane ends, these two will be all over each other again. Charlotte winning the Royal Rumble this year could lead to her challenging Becky at WrestleMania in what could be one of the top matches on the show.

1 NO CHANCE: SASHA BANKS

While Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch are not on the same page and could quickly start feuding with each other for a match at WrestleMania, don't expect that to happen on SmackDown with the other two Horsewomen. Bayley is fantastic in her new role as a heel, and Sasha Banks should always be a heel.

With this in mind, unless Bayley loses her title at the Royal Rumble, don't expect Sasha Banks to win and challenge at WrestleMania. Sasha and Bayley should remain partnered for a very long time.
