Wrestling is a career that has a very short shelf life, there aren't many superstars who are able to perform at the highest standard for any more than a decade, which means that many former wrestlers have gone on to have ordinary jobs in the years that have followed since their WWE departure. The annual Diva Search brought a lot of women to WWE. Many of these performers were trained and then only used for a number of years before they were released back into the real world. While many female wrestlers have since been able to make names for themselves on the Independent Circuit, others have cut their losses and decided to pursue a different career.

While there are a number of female wrestlers who have returned to the company in recent months as part of the Women's Revolution, there are a few who haven't been able to lace up their boots once again because they now rely on income from a 9-5 job. While they used to be highly paid WWE stars, many of these trailblazers are now living the simple, enjoying a different kind of success in their new lives.

The following list looks at just 15 former female wrestlers who were once part of the main roster of the biggest promotion in the world and now it seems that they are living the simple life outside of the business.

15 Candice Michelle

Candice Michelle is a former Women's Champion in WWE and another woman who came to the company through the annual Diva Search. Michelle had everything going for her in WWE as the face of GoDaddy.com, but that all came to an end back in 2009.

Candice has since focused her attention solely on raising her three daughters.

She was able to stay away from the ring for almost nine years before she decided to have her retirement match at House of Hardcore last year. Candice defeated her long-time friend Victoria in their match in Wisconsin and it seems that this was the exclamation point that Candice wanted to put on her wrestling career so that she can now focus on her children and her husband.

14 Christy Hemme

Christy Hemme's life is anything but simple, but compared to the days of the WWE Diva Search, this could be plain sailing. Hemme won the 2004 Diva Search and became a Diva on the Raw brand before she was shockingly released a few months after her first ever WrestleMania match against Trish Stratus. Hemme then went on to work for Impact Wrestling before retiring from in-ring competition and becoming a backstage interviewer for the promotion.

She welcomed her first child back in 2017 but recently became the mother of quadruplets and this has taken all of her attention away from her wrestling career.

Hemme has remained quite active on her Instagram account where she keeps fans updated on her life as a mother of five young children.

13 Eve Torres

Via WWE.com

Eve Torres was the final winner of the annual Diva Search back in 2007 but was still someone who was able to pick up the skills needed to make it in the Women's Division quite quickly. Torres is a former three-time Divas Champion, but she requested her WWE release back in 2013 because she wanted to concentrate on her work with the Gracie Women Empowered self-defense program, even though she later became an ambassador for the company.

She has since become the head instructor for the Gracie programme and is now trained in Brazilian Ju-Jutsu and is a trained kickboxer. Torres also became an event manager a few years ago and now runs an events company with her sister-in-law, Sage Allard called InJOY the Party. She welcomed her first child, a son called Raeven Gracie back in 2015.

12 Cameron

Cameron came to WWE with a dance background but this wasn't enough to see her through Tough Enough back in 2011. Despite being kicked off the show early, Cameron was signed to a WWE contract and after only a few months of training, she was promoted to the main roster to work with Naomi as part of The Funkadactyls.

The duo then became main cast members on Total Divas when the series premiered in 2013 but with the team split as part of a storyline on WWE TV, it seemed that Cameron was unable to keep up with Naomi in the ring. After making a comment on Social Media where she agreed with Ryback's rant about equal pay in WWE, Cameron was released from her WWE contract and has since been trying to pursue a career in the acting business, but is now mostly seen on Youtube.

11 Cherry

Cherry was only part of WWE for a short period of time between 2007 and 2008 when she was seen as a valet for Deuce 'n' Domino and an occasional wrestler in the Women's Division. She is the only female to have made her way to the ring in roller skates in the long history of the company, but toward the end of her career WWE officials had an issue with the former star's weight which then led to her release from the company back in 2008.

Cherry has since been spotted a number of times on E! Network show Total Divas alongside her best friend Natalya, but she's living quite a simple life right now since she currently works for Sea World in Orlando, Florida. Not a bad way to bounce back at all!

10 Aksana

Via Ringthedamnbell.wordpress.com

Aksana was part of the third season of NXT which was the first ever season that featured an all-female roster. While Aksana wasn't a stand out star on the show, it was reported that she was a favourite of Triple H's and this helped her to push towards the main roster. Aksana performed alongside many of the women who are currently in WWE today, but she was one of the women who was seen as expendable when WWE made their budget cuts back in 2014.

She was part of WWE for five years when she was released back in 2014, but she was never able to hold a Championship at any level in WWE.

Aksana has since begun a career as a personal trainer, leaving the wrestling business behind since she now resides and works in Tampa, Florida.

9 Vickie Guerrero

Vickie Guerrero made an impact in WWE as the Raw General Manager and as a heel manager for a number of superstars including Edge and Dolph Ziggler. She was brought into the company back in 2006 after the sudden death of her husband Eddie and she became one of their best known female performers thanks to her character and her iconic screeching voice.

Vickie decided that her life needed a new direction back in 2014 and walked away from the wrestling business after almost a decade.

She has since remarried and started a new career as a medical administrator. Even though Guerrero recently returned as part of the first ever all-female Royal Rumble, it seems that this was a one-off and her time in a wrestling ring is now considered to be over.

8 Jazz

Via wikiwand.com

Jazz is a former two-time Women's Champion in WWE and was part of the company in the early 2000s alongside the likes of Trish Stratus and Lita. Despite being a talented in-ring performer, she was someone who the company couldn't push forward and decided to release her in 2004 since the creative department had no further ideas for her character.

Jazz has since remained on the Independent Circuit and still wrestles from time to time, but she has now the owner of her own wrestling school called The Dogg Pound Wrestling in Louisiana, a school that she runs with her husband Rodney Begnaud, as well as a fitness gym which she uses to help keep youth off the streets. Jazz is also raising her twin daughters Summer and Skye who are nine-years-old.

7 Sable

Sable was once seen as one of the biggest names in the company throughout The Attitude Era and as a former Women's Champion, it seems that she definitely left her name in the history books. After leaving the company back in 1999 and suing WWE for harassment, she was able to return the following year and become part of a number of memorable feuds, before walking away for good in 2004.

Sable married current Universal Champion Brock Lesnar back in 2006 and has since welcomed two sons.

Despite her earlier obsession with the spotlight, Sable is rarely seen out in public with her husband and doesn't even have an Instagram page. She's happy to stay away from the spotlight now and raise her children away from the public eye.

6 Melina

Melina is a former Women's and Divas Champion in WWE and was one of the standout stars of the Women's Division in the years following the departure of Trish Stratus and Lita. Despite her obvious in-ring skills, Melina's backstage attitude was one of the things that caused the former Diva a number of issues and even led to her release.

Melina isn't one of the women that WWE has invited back to the company in recent months, but she has continued to wrestle on the Independent Circuit and has recently been seen making a number of convention appearances as well. Melina and her longtime boyfriend John Morrison also went their separate ways back in 2015 and Morrison is now set to marry fellow Lucha Underground star Taya Valkyrie later this year.

5 Layla

Via prowrestling.wikia.com

Layla won the 2006 Diva Search and was then trained to become a WWE Diva, training that led her to the Women's and Divas Championships as well as a solid team with Michelle McCool. Layla was one of the women who asked for her release from the company when she decided to retire back in the summer of 2015.

She wasn't been used on WWE TV much at that time and has since married fellow wrestler Richard Young and seemingly stepped away from the spotlight completely. Layla has even deleted her social media accounts and has decided to go back to a life where she isn't in the spotlight anymore. She's the only former female wrestler to have taken this route out of the public eye, but all reports suggest that she is happy with her decision.

4 Victoria

Victoria definitely wasn't the lady to mess with in the early 2000s when she was the Women's Champion in WWE. Victoria had a number of memorable feuds throughout her career with the likes of Trish Stratus and Molly Holly, but after more than seven years in WWE, Victoria announced her retirement back in 2009.

Wrestling was something that she couldn't stay away from and later went on to make a name for herself as Tara in Impact Wrestling. As well as her wrestling career, Victoria has had a number of businesses including The Squared Circle restaurant which closed back in 2017 and her own custom car shop called Black Widow customs which was destroyed by a fire back in 2010. Victoria currently wrestles on the Independent Circuit but not as regularly as she once did.

3 Kaitlyn

via instagram.com

Kaitlyn was the winner of the first ever all-female season of NXT back in 2010 and was then pushed up to the main roster. She then became embroiled in one of the best female feuds in a long time with her real-life best friend AJ Lee and was the Divas Champion throughout.

After Kaitlyn dropped the Championship to Lee at Payback in 2013, it seems that there weren't a lot of creative ideas for her moving forward in the company so she requested her WWE release in 2014. Kaitlyn has since gone on to promote her own clothing company, continued her career in bodybuilding and even made her return to the ring earlier this year after more than four years on the sidelines. She currently owns her own smoothie shop in  Boca Raton, Florida.

2 Alundra Blayze

Via monsterjam.com

Alundra Blayze was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2015 after a lengthy career in the business that saw her become best remembered for moving over to WCW and dropping the WWE Women's Championship in the trash on live TV.

Blayze has since moved on since then and retired from professional wrestling back in 2001. She since trained and become a full-time Monster Truck driver and even won the world finals in 2004 and 2005 but now spends her time out of the public eye as the owner of her own grooming and spa centre, she even recently opened up her own Doggy Bakery to go alongside her grooming business. Blayze had had a number of strange jobs over the past few years, but it seems that she has finally found her passion, which is working with animals.

1 Ivory

via sanjuanjournal.com

Ivory was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this month and was able to relive her illustrious career as part of her induction speech. The former Women's Champion and member of Right To Censor was one of the standout stars of that era but was another star who requested her release from the company when she decided not to renew her contract back in 2005.

Ivory has since returned to the company a number of times but spends most of her time now running a company called Downtown Dog, a daycare facility for dogs that she opened back in 2007. She has since expanded her business to include a veterinary facility as well as learning to groom the dogs herself so that this is something she can offer to her clients.
