Aside from one movie that without any question holds down the number one spot in its respectful listing, the following twenty movies are subject to viewers opinion in where they rank on their own top ten and depending on your tolerance for good and bad movies they might even be able to flip flop lists. Actually, we could have even added another ten under the category of horrible, which would have allowed us to add such flicks as Hornswoggle's Leprechaun: Origins, Sable's appearance in Corky Romano and the Big Show in Knucklehead.

Whether they are playing the lead character role or a bit part, there are a number of wrestlers that have been able to make a smooth transition from the squared circle to Hollywood and there are painfully obvious individuals who shouldn't have left the ring. For every successful movie that The Rock has put out, fans have had to also deal with the gut wrenching Hulk Hogan features. While Dwayne Johnson appears to be the exception to the rule, John Cena has been making a push to be the next big thing to transition from the WWE Universe to being a constant on the big screen.

We all know that wrestlers are a mix of athletes and actors in the ring, but when it comes to Hollywood, some have put forth a performance they should be embarrassed to be part of and other that were surprisingly good.

20 The Rock - The Tooth Fairy (Embarrassing)

via traileraddict.com

To be fair, Dwayne Johnson has had some hits and misses in his Hollywood career. Just like in the squared circle, not every character or storyline can be a hit. This is one of the Rock's biggest misses.

No offense to those that might enjoy seeing a muscular man dress up as a fairy, but one has to wonder what The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment was thinking back in 2010.

He signed on to portray a smash mouth hockey player nicknamed the Tooth Fairy and would spend half of the time parading around in a tutu and fairy wings. Somehow not only was this movie horrible, but it managed to spawn a follow up feature.

19 Trish Stratus - Gridlocked (Surprisingly Good)

via austinchronicle.com

Some may look at the inclusion of Gridlocked on the surprisingly good list and question, well how can The Marine series not be when it has equal amounts of overdone explosions and bullets. One word. Trish.

Okay seriously though, Gridlocked was actually a decent movie when you look past Dominic Purcell as the lead actor.

In a perfect blend of over the top action, gun play, offset humor and sex appeal, Gridlocked is definitely one of those movies that on a rainy Sunday afternoon with nothing better to do, you will catch yourself fully engaged in watching and not feel dirty or guilty after doing so. Oh did we mention Trish? Yup, she can do it all and even in her 40s she proves to still have the in-ring talent entering the women's Royal Rumble match.

18 Triple H - The Chaperone (Embarrassing)

via nytimes.com

There are a lot of similarities between The Rock and HHH when early in their WWE careers. Both grew from "meh" characters into mid-level stars into World Champion icons. Some of these same similarities can be found in their movie careers, well at least the "meh" parts.

Like with Johnson, the former WWE Champion found himself in a stinker of a movie, this time playing the role as part of a bank-robbing crew, turned into kids savior.

Look, we get it, 2010-2011 was near the beginning of the PG Era in the WWE, which meant a lot more family and kid friendly content, but fighting off a crew of bad guys while driving a school bus does not make for an entertaining storyline. Unlike The Rock, thankfully Hunter's movie career, other than a couple of cartoon voice-overs was short-lived.

17 John Cena - Trainwreck (Surprisingly Good)

via ign.com

When you see Mr. Hustle, Loyalty and Respect each Monday or Tuesday night, you get this portrayal of John Cena as a clean cut goodie goodie. When you flick on Trainwreck, all of that wholesomeness goes straight out the window.

Although his part is short-lived, Cena's boy toy character Steven is one of the highlights in this rom/com movie.

While Steven's role wasn't hard for Cena to get into, a muscle bound fitness diehard, the banter and the situations in which Cena found himself in, including the bedroom may surprise the Cenation. One has to wonder if Cena was less like Steven if his relationship with Nikki Bella would still be intact.

16 Miz & John Cena - The Marine Series (Embarrassing)

via bleedingcool.com

Believe it or not The Marine series has surprisingly gotten better with each addition to the franchise. Or maybe it is just a case in which it is so bad that it ends up being good. After John Cena kicked it off as Sgt. John Triton in an overblown blow it all to smithereens flick filled with cheese, he must have thought twice about returning for the sequel as Ted Dibiase Jr. was handed the reigns. Now what became of Triton is beyond us, but Ted Jr. jumped in for a cup of coffee as Joe Linwood. Obviously, that movie sucked as we never saw Dibiase or Linwood ever again.

What's the best way to save a drowning ship? Bring in the A-Lister himself, The Miz. Portraying Sgt. Jake Carter (what's with all three guys name beginning with J? Next up, Jerry, Jim and Jerimiah). Whether people actually enjoy the Miz's acting or they just got tired of making new characters, the longevity of Sgt. Jake Carter makes us question our sanity in continuing to watch this trainwreck of a movie series.

15 Hulk Hogan - Rocky III (Surprisingly Good)

via abcnews.go.com

It's a bit of a stretch but you have to feel bad that one of the greatest wrestling characters of all-time has had nothing but a terrible platter of movies on his resume. Hogan's short lived stint as Thunderlips was a fitting and believable character in the third installment of the Rocky franchise.

Considering that Hogan basically had to play himself, his acting was spot on.

In a crossover promotion, Thunderlips entered the boxing ring to take on Rocky in a charity event. Short, sweet and to the point. Nothing more, nothing less. Despite Hogan's popularity in the early 80s, it was his WrestleMania tag team partner Mr. T that grabbed the leading role of Rocky's opponent in the second highest grossing movie of the franchise.

14 Hulk Hogan - No Holds Barred (Embarrassing)

via smellthegrindstone.com

Let's call it what it is, Hulk Hogan has never been a great storyteller, be it in the ring or on the big screen. But yet somehow for years people have bought into the Hulkster character, which in some ways would make him a great actor does it not? If you bypass Rocky III and a handful of TV appearances, Hogan's first main acting gig was the tragic No Holds Barred.

Now granted this movie came out in the late 80s so the cinematography wasn't what it is today, but the overall terribleness of Hogan's acting and the action scenes look like something more suited for Animal House or one of those 80s comedies.

Considering this movie was written by Hogan and Vince McMahon, it looks more like a WWE vignette than a successful big screen movie. Even on the rainiest day, avoid watching this movie at all costs.

13 Batista - Guardians Of The Galaxy Series (Surprisingly Good)

via screenrant.com

Raise your hand if you ever imagined Dave having a successful run in Hollywood? Thought so. Apparently Batista proved us all wrong as whether it be bit parts or storyline characters, the Animal has proven to equally be as good an actor as he was a wrestler.

Now we aren't talking major award winner here, but he has certainly held his own in some major flicks, including his two biggest roles, Mr. Hinx in James Bond's Spectre and Drax The Destroyer as part of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy series and the Avengers.

It's interesting that the WWE acknowledges The Rock and John Cena as successful wrestlers turned actors, but Batista should rightfully be included in that conversation.

12 Kane - See No Evil Series (Embarrassing)

via horrorchannel.co.uk

It's fitting that Kane (Glenn Jacobs) held the lead role in this slasher flick, considering the darkness of his wrestling character. While the WWE tried to go the dark route on this horror film, the overall cheese factor was relatively high. Which leads us to wonder how and why they would approve a sequel? Maybe in the third film he'll play a politician turned into the evil persona we've seen him portray in the previous two? Or not, either or.

Although there was an ample amount of slicing and dicing, the lack of actual suspense just seemed to make the film boring and a "oh, we already saw that".

Remember how excited you were to watch Kane wrestle in an Inferno match? Yeah, that pretty much covers the feelings about See No Evil.

11 The Rock - Gridiron Gang (Surprisingly Good)

via denofgeek.com

Just like Hulk Hogan appeared numerous times as part of the most embarrassing portion of this list, The Rock equally appears as part of the movies that were surprisingly good. This movie works because it felt real, it felt as though if Dwayne Johnson wasn't in the WWE that he would be found somewhere on a football field mentoring youth. Based loosely on a real life story, Sean Porter (Johnson) and his sidekick Malcolm Moore (Xzibit) take a crew of street tough kids who are spending time in a youth detention facility and try to connect to them through sport, which is a completely believable process.

There are a lot of feel good moments in the movie, as two rival gang members team up together, the team comes back from a rocky (excuse the pun) start to mesh together and the final game outcome (without spoiler) is reason to have to program continue. The real Kilpatrick Mustangs program unfortunately folded in 2012.

10 Stone Cold - The Condemned (Embarrassing)

via film.avclub.com

There might not be enough Coors Light or Broken Skull IPA's in the world that could get us through The Condemned. As entertaining as Stone Cold Steve Austin was in the ring, his big screen leading role looked and felt like it took a dozen Stone Cold Stunners. Imagine a horrible blend between Hunger Games and Death Race. Thing is Hunger Games and Death Race (at least the first one) were good movies.

The Condemned was not. The one glaring problem is when you saw Austin in the movie it was as if he just moved his character over from the ring onto the big screen. There was no difference. Had the WWE Films just stayed with the 1 minute and 50 second trailer, they wouldn't have found themselves in the hole for over $16 million.

9 Roddy Piper - They Live (Surprisingly Good)

via screenrush.com

Any movie that kicks a$$ and chews bubblegum deserves to be included in a list of good movies. Throw in kicking some alien butt and you have a recipe for guilty fun. Considering that Roddy Piper spent the early part of his career as one of the biggest villains in wrestling history, his transition into an earth saving hero.

It's a shame that Piper didn't appear in more mainstream movies as his acting chops and energy were plentifully on display in this cult classic flick.

Although it is deemed a "B movie", They Live is definitely must see TV for any sci-fi horror wrestling fan. His daughter walks in similar foot-steps continuing on as an actress, without a doubt, Roddy's smiling from up above.

8 Hulk Hogan - Mr. Nanny (Embarrassing)

via si.com

Hey look, another Hogan movie. Again, not taking anything away from the Hulkster, he belongs on the Mt. Rushmore of wrestling characters (notice we didn't say greats, just characters), but his actual acting chops are down right horrific. Any dreams that he and Vince had of striking it rich as a cross-over wrestler/actor got flushed pretty quickly.

Sure Mr. Nanny's target audience were the kids he was telling to drink their milk, say their prayers and eat their vitamins, but honestly trying to sit through the horrible jokes and the Hulkster dressed in a tutu was unbearable.

Sadly there are more Hogan film's out there that could easily hold down various spots on this list. This one in particular, however, is considered to be one of his very worst ever and what likely sunk his acting career.

7 The Rock - Fast and Furious Series (Surprisingly Good)

via autoweek.com

Agent Hobbs made his first appearance in Fast Five and has been a staple in the F&F franchise ever since. After hunting down the crew of our favorite street racers turned heist thieves turned well we don't know what they are now, Hobbs has gone from being one of the hunters to being one of the hunted during his four appearances as part of Dom Toretto's crew.

As with the movie itself, Dwayne Johnson's roles have been over the top and practically unbelievable, yet a completely enjoyable guilty pleasure.

For some, Hobbs has become so popular (or so we are led to think) that the franchise has set out to create a spin-off movie of the character before the final two Fast and Furious movies are released.

6 Roddy Piper - Hell Comes To Frogtown (Embarrassing)

via denofgeek.com

Remember how bad Cannibal Women In The Avocado Jungle Of Death was? Yeah, Hell Comes To Frogtown was much worse. While Rowdy Roddy Piper had a long list of acting gigs in which he played a leading role, Frogtown, which was one of his earliest films leaves a long lasting bad taste in your mouth.

Long and short of it, due to living in a toxic wasteland, Piper's job is to save the last group of fertile women in order to help keep civilization alive. Know what else was bad? The fact that a second film was approved. At least Piper knew well enough not to sign on for the straight to video version.

5 Jesse Ventura - Predator (Surprisingly Good)

via ultimateactionmovies.com

Back in the 80s there were very few people that could steal a show from certain actors, one being Arnold Schwarzenegger. As Blaine Cooper, Jesse Ventura almost managed to accomplish such a feat. That is until his tobacco chewing cockiness finds himself blown to bits by an alien.

If you watched wrestling in the 80s, you know how brash and over the top vocal The Body was and his bravado was backed up by his impressive physique. Unfortunately, neither helped him outlast his big-screen opponent in this cult classic that managed to spawn a number of sequels and spin-offs. For fans of the movie franchise, a fourth installment is scheduled to hit in the fall of 2018, but sadly, Blaine Cooper will not be around to see it.

4 The Undertaker - Suburban Commando (Embarrassing)

via wrestlersinhollywood.tumblr.com

You know how the WWE can never seem to really get away from the Hulkster no matter how old he is or how much trouble he gets into? Well that's kind of like this list. Yes believe it or not we have another Hollywood Hogan entry. Know who else made an appearance in this horrible flick? None other than The Undertaker, Mark Calaway.

Unfortunately for anyone watching this flick neither wrestler had the acting chops to play dead.

Thankfully now in 2018 Hogan's acting career and possibly his wrestling career is resting in peace! Taker somehow continues in the wrestling business despite his age and tough shape. He's taking part in a overseas appearance and the rumor mill believes he'll have another match after that.

3 Andre The Giant - The Princess Bride (Surprisingly Good)

via fictionmachine.com

While the movie was released after he was brainwashed by Bobby Heenan and turned heel for the first time in his career, the Eighth Wonder of the World had completed filming of the classic movie that should have won numerous awards but was better known for being one of the great movies that didn't.

After playing bit parts in television shows, Andre moved onto a screen more fitting of a man of his size and stretched his acting chops into playing...a giant. Fezzik was as loveable as Andre was adored during most of his career and sadly and unbelievably he would only capture the WWE crown once in his illustrious career, which like the Princess Bride being snubbed any accolades is a damn shame.

2 Santino Marella - Jingle All The Way 2 (Embarrassing)

via youtube.com

If Arnold Schwarzenegger, who wasn't the world's greatest actor (minus The Terminator series) couldn't make the first Jingle movie a success, why would anyone in their right mind believe that Larry The Cable Guy and Santino Marella would revitalize it in the 2014 horrific sequel.

Heck, this movie probably ruined a couple thousand Christmases around the world.

When Marella won the Intercontinental Title in his debut match, there was some signs of potential of a quality character. That was in 2007. For the next seven years, Marella became nothing more than a sad comedic act, fitting for a role in this waste of a time movie.

1 Cesaro & R-Truth - The Wrestler (Surprisingly Good)

via shotonwhat.com

Easily one of if not the best wrestling movies created, Mickey Rourke's portrayal of Randy "The Ram" Robinson gave fans an in-depth view of what life is like for our heroes of the squared circle. While yes there is a spotlight, fame and fortune, there are also many dark hours that come along with it.

Released in 2008, The Wrestler featured a number of indie scene wrestlers that are featured in the film, including notable names like Jay Lethal, Cesaro (well before his WWE career), Ernest Miller, R-Truth and Jimmy Valient. Whether you are a die-hard wrestling fan, in which you have already seen it, or a casual fan or someone who is just starting to watch, this is a must see movie in wrestling history.
