Finn Balor's first match since his return to NXT has finally been announced, and it will take place at NXT TakrOver: WarGames.
When news broke that NXT would be moving to the USA Network, going live every week, for twice as long, and opposite of AEW Dynamite, fans knew we were getting set for something special. Triple H has yet to let us down via the black and gold brand and although this big move has been its biggest evolution to date, the not-so-developmental show is the brand that keeps on giving.
One of the biggest revelations following NXT's move to USA was that it had regained one of its top alumni. Finn Balor. Balor is the longest-reigning NXT Champion in the brand's history, putting on some of its greatest matches during his first stint. We're hoping for more of the same now he's back.
Balor is yet to wrestle a match since his return though, instead focusing all of his energy on making it known who his allies will be. He did so by attacking Johnny Gargano. Some will have assumed that was the beginning of the build to a Balor versus Gargano match, and it might well be, but due to Johnny Wrestling's injury, that showdown will have to remain on the backburner for now.
As for Balor's first opponent since returning to NXT, that has now been revealed. Matt Riddle will have the honor of being that first man at NXT TakeOver: WarGames. Balor called out Riddle during this week's NXT and The King of Bros quickly answered the call. The trouble is, that now leaves Tomasso Ciampa with a Riddle-shaped gap to fill in his WarGames team.
Shortly after clashing with Balor, Riddle let Ciampa and the rest of his now-former teammates know that he'll be taking a different road to WarGames. So who will the fourth and final member of Team Ciampa be? Dominik Dijakovic and Adam Cole will do battle in a ladder match to determine which team gets the advantage. We're assuming we'll see team member number four during that match at some point.
