It's been an interesting couple of weeks for WWE Superstar Finn Balor. Rumors have run wild that Vince McMahon has not been happy with how the fans have received Balor and Vince himself finds Balor too "vanilla" and "boring" when he's not out wrestling as the "Demon King" character. That news has sent a number of fans and the Internet wrestling community into a tizzy. Balor meanwhile, seems to be having a bit of fun with the speculation.
Balor has been posting a series of tweets over the last few days poking fun at the idea that he's not "over" with the crowd. He shared an Instagram post where he explained, "I AM NOT OVER cooking the turkey" and other tweets where he's used the term "over" as a way to subtly address these rumors. it doesn't seem to bother Balor, likely because he has insider information and perhaps isn't worried.
If the WWE Universe is still unsure, Balor's latest tweet might set the record straight and show sufficient proof that the WWE would be silly to let his talents, popularity, and charisma go to waste.
Balor was rumored to be in line for a match versus Brock Lesnar at the upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Part of the rumor that is circulating is that he was removed from that match by Vince McMahon due to McMahon's lack of trust that Balor could handle the role and bring in the fans. It was also rumored the WWE wasn't sure who Lesnar's opponent would be.
There were other reports that Balor was never set to be in that match and the WWE was still trying to determine which way to take the Royal Rumble's match for the Universal Title. If their recent poll on WWE.com tells fans anything, it's that the WWE Universe is unanimously behind Balor in that role.
The poll was created for fans to vote on who they thought should face Lesnar next for the Universal Title. Clearly, when Balor posted this, he had the majority of the vote. As of this writing, that percentage has increased to 63 percent with only Braun Strowman also in double digits.
The WWE Universe wants Finn Balor and Balor seems to want the Universal Title back. The only person left to convince is Vince McMahon. If you want Balor, you can head on over and vote now.
